a) you need a smaller belt b) if your at sea level a 2.8 and 42lb injectors will max out the injector duty cycle and c) if i were you , and you liked your car i wouldnt do ANY of this until you have a tune worked out or somewhere to go to get it tuned after the pulley and injector installation. Your cars gonna run like **** if you run a 2.8, 42lbers and no tune !!! if you dont live at sea level a 2.8 and 42's should be ok if your at sea level you need to go with 60lbers , siemens makes some there about 215 on svtperformancedotcom

Why dont you just have someone load a gm stage 2 tune in? I think I might know someone who can do it for you. But you will need to pay atleast 100 bucks for the credits.

ive always said if you are going smaller than the stage 2 pulley it is a good idea to go with the 60's

1000 ft and above sea level with 42's work with 2.79" with a tune.
You just need to know how to set it up.

Its 36# for the stock injectors. Stage 2 comes with new injectors which are 42#...... 36# injectors cannot handle a 2.8 and I garuntee you that. 42# injectors have a hard time. If you have Hptuners you can see what your Injector duty cycle is and it would be extremly high.
