So we tuned our first cobalt SS today. The car has a stage 2 pulley and injectors as the only mods. First we up loaded a file from hp tuners as the baseline that said it was the stage 2 cal. We made a pull and the numbers it put down were 198.96whp 183.46wtq. After some work on the fuel tables we put down 229.28whp 210.62wtq. From where it started we thought these numbers were pretty good but I have nothing to reference them against. I did some searching and really didnt see much in the way of dyno numbers on this sight. Any feedback would be appreciated.

So 30whp gain over a stock stage 2 flash is low or the dyno numbers as a whole??? If 30whp isnt much of a gain over the stage 2 flash thats one thing. If the numbers as a whole are low thats the dyno. So which is it and what kind of numbers should a stage 2 with no other mods be making?

 

How is that low? Starting hp was 198. Ending hp was 229.... 229 - 198 = 31whp increase over 3.0 pulley and (assuming) 42.5's. Hm, not a bad increase to me

 

should be around 240.

I think they meant the dyno,the gains are great..congrats,don't forget guys every dyno is different,hell,I dynoed 150 once so some dynos register very low.

 

The numbers as a whole are low. They should be up around 240 whp, 30+ over the original is pretty good.

 

Bone stock at 4600ft and 102 temp 203hp 179tq on an ase adjusted mustang dyno.

 

31hp and 27lbs/ft is a pretty nice gain over GM's pig rich tune . Why the low #'s ....I aasume u guys are at a pretty high elevation ?

 

Stage 2 only should be making at least 245whp. No other mods. It could be a number of reasons why it's screwed up. Could be the alttitude, temperature etc. But your tuning seems to be on the right track.

AFR's look OK for the most part.

Thanks g5mike. One thing everyone does need to realize is that every dyno does not give the same numbers. If you think picking up 30whp over the sage 2 flash isnt much, I dont know what to say. As far as the numbers as a whole being low that is usually attributed to the dyno. The dyno that we tune on right now isnt the greatest in the world, but its not the worst. We will have our own dyno installed just after SEMA. Im sure the numbers that we will be putting down on the Dyno Dynamics will be more accurate.

 

Get a land and sea dyno..
