Clear Image Automotive SS/TC boost tubing kit GP
We are working on all of these parts this wekend. The first production boost tubing kit kit complete with bead rolls and sensor mount. I;ll try to get a picture up before i leave. No powder yet as there wasn't time to send it out.
Anyways, we have lots planned for this weekend and should be able to post dyno charts by MOnday. As we did with the Pontiac Solstice, we will have plenty of different results: stock aprts with stock tune. Performance Parts with performance tune and many combo's of different tunes and performance parts in-between. We are also going to test 2" charge piping and compare it to 2 1/2" charge piping. We make everything ourselves so it's no big deal to try something different.
Thanks.
Here's the first production kit, complete with bead rolls, sensor mount, bracket, 304 stainless T-bolt clamps and 5-ply hi-temp silicone couplers.

The only thing not shown is powder coating, which will be gloss black as standard.

Nice!
My birthday is coming up at the end of this month, maybe I can talk some people into picking up some of the price tag for me.

For the guys waiting for the LNF Upgrade kit from GMPP.
Tom at Crate Engine Depot says it is still looking like March. Gm had originally said it would be out for Cobalt around the end of the 1st quarter. He also verifies there WILL be an air intake, of some sort, with the Cobalt kit. What form the intake will take is still a mystery. This kit shouldn't interfere with the charge pipe at all.
This package does look good and the price is definitely right. But carbon fibre sounds sooooo good.
I guess if performance is your first priority the powder coated steel is good. But the guys that want the best looking piece, and price is no object, will probably wait for the carbon fibre. There's too many choices. Like a Chinese restaurant.

I personally would not like it to look like carbon fiber. I'm all about performance so os carbon fiber not the best way to go? I'm trying to save myself some added weight. It should be able to hold air just as good as steel right? How about thermals how soes it perform? Thanks
Well it looks like there will be a set back with me going up to seattle this weekend because the state of washington doesn't know how to build roads so that 60 majors highways in that state don't close, so since all these highways are closed there is no possible path into seattle from portland unless of course you fly.....

As stated above, we have no access to the car this weekend.
I'm pissed...
Anyways, it gives us time to get the thermal dispersant coating done on his charge piping. It also gives us more time to try and get a blow-off valve here to mock-up.
As far as carbon fiber, unless we segment the tubing into multiple parts, there is no way to offer the kit in carbon fiber. Here is one of the CF air intake parts we sell for the Impala SS. Keep in mind performance first then appearance. It is NOT a show quality CF piece but is extremely light, insulates very well and definitely has a different look than anything else under ther hood.

He made it!
Daniel made it up yesterday after all.
A VERY productive day with flow bench testing, dyno testing, product development and a real insight to a very real danger of engine destruction...

He does put out tons of products for great prices. If money wasn't so tight right now, I think I would be jumping over these pipes and what they have now made in the posted link. But I will have to wait to be a little more stable on my feet before I can spend money on these or even some other items. But when that time does come, I will be jumping on the boat and getting as much as I can!

Thanks guys.
I spoke to the owner of Performance Coatings today about the thermal dispersant coating for the boost tubing. It will be an additional $100.00 over powder. This will be for the hot and cold side, though the cold side will be ceramic coated to keep heat out of the tubing.
I am dropping the first kit off tomorrow and I'll take pictures Friday when we do the install and finish the dyno testing.
