MRZ any plans to make this in an overdrive configuration?

Such as a 4% overdrive at 6.5" (stock is 6.25") for us SS/SC folks looking for a little more boost...

...why wouldnt you just drop supercharger pulley sizes.... going overdrive will waste more power driving the AC and alternator

We do not plan on making an overdriven pulley since there are already many options for those who wants to reduce the supercharger pulley size to get more boost. We can always do it as a custom sized pulleyif you wish to go that way...

part number 11589123: Bolt, Crankshaft w/Washer.....order at any GM parts house - or get one from CED.

The bolt is a torque-to-yield bolt, best not to reuse the original one. Factory service manual states to replace the bolt.

With the MRZ pulley (because it is aluminum) you will not torque the bolt to yield so you can reuse it again.

.....and you would be defeating the primary purpose -- more power -- of a lightweight pulley by overdriving the alternator and AC compressor just to speed up the supercharger.

If you order the lightweight original sized pulley you would only need to order a bolt part number 11589123: Bolt, Crankshaft w/Washer -- you can reuse the same belt.

2.2 and 2.4 owners who get the UDP will need the smaller belt ACDelco PN 5K390 -- MRZ can supply those if you want.

Note on the belt tensioner: The only attach point is a 3/8 inch square hole -- not every belt tensioner tool will work. You can use a jack and a bar to move the tensioner to get the belt on and off.

I was just curious if MRZ was going to make an overdrive pulley similar to another supporting vendor to potentially attract those customers with their slightly lighter weight and better priced product...

Can anyone vouch for the performance increase with the lightweight pulley on a 2.0 SS/SC? Just faster revs or a little more power?

We feel it is very easy already to adjust boost level as wanted with SC pulleys, the belt size might also be a problem with the oversized pulley...

Regarding the competition pulleys... We consider a crank pulley should not be a 2 pieces assembly for perfect balancing and strenght. We did look a this possibility in the past for cost reasons but we realized the pulley need to be made from a full chuck of billet aluminum for a perfect balancing and integrity. This cost more to produce for us, but this is far more accurate since this is a single piece and not an assembly.

Thanks for the info, I am considering joining this GP.

I do need to know however what if "felt" with this mod... Is there actual increase in power, or just some faster revs / better response..?

Are you any closer to having these ready? I would like to jump in on the group buy, but I really was interested in getting both pulleys at the same time. That way I can maybe save some money on the shipping and the install. So any updates?

I can't answer for the original size pulley, but the UDP on my 2.4 feels like it has quicker throttle response at low speeds.

We only need a few more people for this group buy... this is a great opportunity to save on the UDP or Lightweight pulleys

BTW the alternator lightweight pulleys will be available in approx. 2 weeks from now.
