We ended up with 35 orders. All have shipped except for the two TRI-Y orders and a couple others on payments.

The sale was over a long time ago so current price is on our website:

I have one 1 5/8" header available at the GB price. All 1 3/4" primary tube headers are gone. Give us a call if you would like to order: (425)251-0329.

Thanks.

went to install header/downpipe today...ran into a few snags...

first off, all i recived in the box was the header/downpipe...nothing less nothing more...with this said, some instructions of what else would be needed in the install would have been nice, as in, saying you need the supply your own bolt to connect the header/downpipe together. i had already purchased gaskets for replacing but assumed the bolts would be in the box...i was wrong..now my car sits on jacks and what was ment to be a 2 hour job turned into a 6 hour + (waiting tomorrow) job.

aswell, it appears on 07+ they added a heat shield, this heat shield sits RIGHT INFRONT of the header...it needs to come of...and is a pain in the ass to get off...

aswell, the connector for the O2 sensor in the header has FAR TO LITTLE SLACK, it feels like if the engines moves any bit, the sensor will break...costing alot of money...i pray this doesnt happen..a extendor may need to be purchased.

for the ups, the header went in as smooth as butter, no jerking around or anything, the downpipe and header look very clean and appear to be able to go in very well and should yield some good numbers.

Interesting...
We for sure cleaned the box out and there were no bolts in there.
Also, as Projekt already stated, there was absolutely no slack on the O2 sensor cable. I actually had to pop the sensor cable out of a few clips in order to get just enough slack to connect it. An extension will likely be needed for this.

did he order the 4-1 header or the 4-2-1 header???
cause the 4-1 needs nothing...the 4-2-1 needs extnesions...

nvm...just saw pics
4-1...hmmm...try unclipping it further up by the engine...

Now that you mention it, I don't recall seeing bolts in my box either. I'll have to check and make sure I get some before I go to put it together.

I got everything in the box with mine. 4 bolts and 4 nuts two are for connecting the header to downpipe and the other two are for the dp to catback. as for the o2 sensor i had to undo some clips and pull some what to get the slack i needed.

OK, something is going on with nuts/bolts. When we first started making headers for the Impala community, we had the same thing happen, 25% of the customers were calling saying they didn't get any nuts/bolts. So, we started bagging them and taping the bag to the inside of the box. Have been doing this every since without problems.

For the Cobalt, we have been either bagging and taping to the side of the inside of the flap or placing them inside of the down-pipe slip connection then wrapping the extention as well as the ends of the down-pipes so they don't fill up with peanuts.

We are certainly NOT perfect but there are just too many Cobalt customers saying they haven't received their nuts/bolts.

Please check through the peanuts and the sides of the box. If we screwed up and forgot to send the nuts/bolts, I apologize. They are simply 3/4" thread tap bolts with 14mm or 9/16" heads.

Thanks again everyone.

P.S. There is plenty wire in the O2 harness but, as stated, the harness needs to be removed from the brackets.

those things are miniscule to the grand scheme of things. it could be worse. they could get the nuts n bolts and not the header/dp. now then i'd be pissed.

heres my experience with clear image and their header/downpipe..

at the start, dan and beth were very helpfull. they helped me decided whats a better build for my car and figure out shipping.

then due to paypals lack of sending money, we ran into a shipping issue, no worries tho...dan and beth took care of that and i ended getting the parcel on time...

so came the day of install...we went to install after taking the old peices off..and there was no nuts and bolts..and ****..it was a sunday..

so we went to napa , the fat-ass **** behind the desk used some messuring device and told us we needed a 9/16th bolt..and of course only specialty shops carried that...so we were fucked..

so its monday..i took work off like i did on sunday...went to this bolt place...got them..woo..grade 8 9/16th bolts...around 5:30 picked up maj from work and went to my house..and sure enough..9/16ths dont fit! WTF

so we called dan...dan was very helpfull again, after telling him this he told us we should have bolts and nuts..we looked around...nothing..so dan was helpful enough and gave us the right size and such..

sooo...we went to home depot..got the bolts and nuts..fit no problem, header/downpipe is steddy as a rock..now its time to turn the car on...

so i have the 2.5" downpipe and a 3" flopro muffler...we start it up...holy hell..its like honda and uncle bens combined factories to make the riceyest thing in the world...this means i need to get a new cat back

it sounds so bad because i didnt order the cat, thats my fault no one elses

from my experience, clear image makes one hell of a product and really stands behind it, dan and beth where a huge help, and even tho my parcel had no nuts and bolts, it really didnt matter, the amount of help dan was, was more then enough to look over that...

aswell...after i installed it..i raced my friends LT1 corvette ( i have a 2.4L /w intake and exhaust obviously) we went from a 80km roll and i won by a car....before i lost by roughly a car...

so again, i highly recommend this, i personally would spend the extra money and get the cat. even my friend who owned the ZZP header/downpipe was amazed at how easily clear images header/downpipe was to put in, and how rock steddy it was...

again...all the thanks to clear image, and to anyone looking to purchase this product, PM me and ill send you a list on why you should.

Continuing with what Projekt had said, the install went really smoothly. There were so many things I loved about this part, I really can't even get into them all. To list a few of the major ones.... build quality, ease of install.

As mentioned, I've previously had a ZZP H/D midlength, and I was very unsatisfied with the part. From the build quality (pinched flex pipe, no welded... wtf?) to their customer service (5 phone calls and 2 emails and no response...) the whole experience was just garbage!!

ClearImage on the other hand. Top Notch!
If I had the money to spend on exhaust, I would be on the phone with Dan yesterday.

Not only was the part very sturdy and the welds clean, but it really showed that they spent the time to R&D the part for ease of install and performance. The header was in and hand tight in under 2 minutes. I couldn't even beleive it. The ZZP part was awkward and required a lot of strain to make fit. This was not the case with this part.

I would however like to clear up some stuff with how I feel about Projekt's post. While it is very true that his car sounds extremely ricey.. I do not fault ClearImage's parts for this in any way shape or form. I blame his muffler. It is not sized properly for the car, and the weld done by the installer was a chop job at best. Even without a Cat I beleive the exhaust note will come out very clean if the rest of the exhaust was tuned properly. (sorry JP, it's true!)

Finally. I thank Dan for his amazing customer service, and for providing our community with a steller option for exhaust parts. If a day ever comes where I have money to spend and still own a Cobalt, rest assured you'll be the first place I go shopping for exhaust.

but yeah, as ryan said...it sounds like rice..but like i said..not clear images fault, my fault for having a free muffler on my car.
