09 ss/tc brake replacement issues
I just went to napa and they had stock pads in their inventory only took a day to be delivered from their warehouse from where i live and they have other options to, And i upgraded the rotors from to some slotted and drilled from r2 concepts they've been working pretty good for 50k miles now
LSJ does not use the Ferodo HP 1000 compound in the brake pad as OEM. The rotors on an LSJ are smaller in diameter but 2 mm thicker than the LNF which are larger in diameter.
slotted Brembo's work well. The material in the Brembo rotor is very good.

mike needs that bbk because race car
The Stock rear pads on the LNF have had some issues with recking rotors due to wear issues. I switched the rear pads to HPS and just change my fronts from Stock Ferodo pads out for dedicated Track pads when needed.
I just did my front pads, with stock pads, front rotors with the rotors John just pictured above, they work awesome and new pin kits. I live in a state where salt is an issue but my pins came out with hardly any effort. In the back i run power slot rotors and hawk HPS pads. I still have 9mm of pads in the back and they've been on there for months. My stock GM pads barely made it to 20k after GM did them under warranty at 5k. Rear rotors still look like new, and fronts are new, lol. i also flushed the brake system with ATE super blue. Works wonders.
i ended up ordering the parts from rockauto $421 shipped just got oem stuff all the way around already have wilwood 570 in the car gonna get it flushed again soon been a lil over a year
ok so i have been reading alot about brake pads for my lnf...after i had already got hawk his.... now im seeing alot of people prefer the stock ones, i have stock rotors and my stock pads are not too bad but now i just put in my hps and bed them in 2 days ago and already glazed my rear rotors and worped them just on DD. i got them turned since they where new, so should i just throw my stock pads back?? i did notice that my car was not braking as good as before, it sucks because no one is gonna want to buy them now that they are used and i spent almost 200 for them..... any advice guys

The HPS are ok for the rear. If anything, I'd just order the front Ferodo pads and keep the rear for whatever... With the glazing issue - it almost sounds like your e-brake is not releasing completely because of a seized/partially seized rotor/parking brake mechanism.
I'd spray the crap out of them (parking brake mechanisms) with WD-40 (not the pads or the rotors, but just the rear e-brake mechanism), if you replaced the rotors yourself, you'll see where the e-brae mechanism is back there and my driver's side was seized.... A crap load of WD-40 fixed the issue for me after spraying it and then driving a few days. (mine was seized open though, the e-brake wouldn't engage rather than always stay jammed/make contact with the rotor)
i want to start doing some autoX/ road racing this year so ill have to look into it.... as far as my e brake i did have issues with it so i disconnected it completely and it still rubbed, im going to try the wd40 see how that goes. i need a new right rear caliper as well the previous owner fail to tell me that the e brake spring on the caliper had been broken off, found out while i was doing my brakes

....But yes, WD-40 worked for me.
yea i tried taking it in, but the dealer found that the broken clip that holds the spring to the caliper and releases the e brake was broken off by either the suspension bottoming out or an accident, which is not covered under warranty. but i do have warranty on my car until march of this year. now im just looking for a good new and cheap driver Rear caliper.
I had an issue with my rear brakes a while back where the pad on the inboard of the rotor wore ridiculously unevenly where the top of the pad had plenty of material but the bottom of was done. After reading through the forums here I concluded that it was due to what some people had reported that the slide(I don't know if this is the right term) the rear caliper slides around on, since its single piston, was not properly lubricated so I got new oem rotors, hps pads, and greased the crap out of the slides and so far its worked fine(i've probably put 10-15k miles on them, including dong autox and a drive from San Diego to St. Louis and back).
At the time I read people were saying HPS pads were good, but I'm going to have to replace the fronts here sooner than later I think as I'm starting to hear squeaking. So is the consensus that the stock Ferodo pads are better than any other pad available, excluding track pads since I'll be DDing and autocrossing only? Talking the 09 SS here so front Brembo brakes.

yea I'm going to use these hps until i get some stockers again, but i definitely feel that they dont really have the stopping power of my stock pads, would that be why everyone prefers stock pads???
on a side note, i have full bolt ons on my 09 lnf and was wondering if people are running .035 gap spark plugs or .032??? i have .035 now and the car seems better than when i was running stock plugs. i posted on the PROBEM and SERVICES but not many people put inputs.... sorry to thread jack
