Exclamation B&G Spring Problem..

Hey guys, on tuesday i installed b&g springs on my sedan and i have been getting a vibration from the front of the car. Ive checked a few times and made sure everything is tight and installed correctly. I took it to the shop and they said the axle is binding because its too low and that is whats causing the car to vibrate, mainly while picking up speed. My question for you guys is, has anyone ever ran into this problem, or does anyone know what i can do to fix it? I am going to install the stock front springs and see if the vibration still occurs.

Thanks in advance.

yes, it's caused because the car has been lowered. You get alignment on your car yet? If not that would also cause part of your vibration

Vibrations can be caused by so many things. Maybe the axles or binding, but you'd probably hear or feel it. It's pretty distinct. Did you knock a wheel weight off by accident? Alignment could also help.

I have not personally seen lowering springs that will bind axles.

Well about the wheel weight, they did say my tires needed to be balanced so they did that and i thought thats what the vibration was, but it wasnt. At the shop they had it up on the lift and a guy was inside and pushed the gas while a guy was under it inspecting it, so i think they were pretty sure its the axle.

If the car was in the air, there was no load on the drivetrain thus not causing the axles to bind....

Lol I said that meaning i dont think they saw anything else wrong. They sounded pretty positive that the axle is my problem

Thats weird though, because I know a few people with cobalts lowered on B&Gs and they dont have this problem

Someone said rack spacers will help solve the problem, is that true?

Rotated mounts will help you out. It should rotate the motor a little to take the binding affect away. I have progress springs and my axles aren't binding so I don't know whats up with yours.

when you jacked the car up, did you put something under the front calipers to keep the weight off your axles? because if you let them down without something under them, the entire weight of the assembly is resting on the axle, and I've seen the axle bend a decent amount, perhaps you've bent it enough and it's not straight now? idk, jsut my two cents. also if it's bent that would cause it to be a little short as well.

from what i noticed it vibrates because the car is lowered so much that axles arent parallel and the hubs are up higher then trans is so the axles has to rotate in a oval fashion. with the auto cars your cant use rotated mounts

Yeah im probably going to take them off next weekend, but i cant get my money back because they have a 7day return policy or something. But im glad to know that it rides perfect without the springs on and you didnt actually mess something up

by the way i saw your car at the pavs last night

Would going with b&g coilovers rather than springs alone help this situation? It doesnt make sense that a company would produce springs for these cars that are unusable.
