Best Coilover System?

I have an 05 ss/sc. Looking for the best coilover system for soft streetability and adjustable for the track. Not looking to go broke, but don't want bottom of the barrel either. Any recommendations from those of you who actually have coilovers on your balt?

Almost anything else should be decent.

I'd actually say avoid the coilovers currently on the market in the inexpensive range, but that doesnt answer your question.

For the street and your wallet Id say get the Ksport Kontrol Pros. They are for sale at like $750 shipped all the time which is the cheapest of all the coilovers. Rodimus says they dont come with an upper pillowball mount......I dont think it matters as the stock mount is better for "soft streetability" anyway, but according to Ksport they do, and the one set I saw in person did.

IMO oll the coilover on the market at this time that are of Asian manufacture are all very comparable, I would never spend $1000 or more on any of the coilovers that get mentioned here regularly(BC, BG, Ksport, Megan, KW(either one), CA, ARK, STD) I still want to see the Stance ones in person even though they may be overpriced, and I am super excited to see the ones coming from another company very soon hopefully.

I would go with Ksports for under $800.

Personal choice, as I have owned a set of coil overs and NEVER adjusted them; is to get the Eibach Sportlines and Konis....

If you never plan on raising the car up, why get coil overs? (maybe you do)

I have sportlines on now. They never installed right. The right spring never quite sat in the strut correctly. (intalled and reinstalled twice) The car pulls mad to the right even with an aggessive alignment. Its almost as if I was sent two lefts. I'm a little gun shy of replacing them with sportlines again fearing the same issue or the strut is now damaged some how. I don't really plan on raising and lowing, I just want a solid suspension solution without a guessing game.

thanks

SS/TC struts and shocks (or Koni Inserts) and Pedders Sport Ryder springs. I love em. Sportlines do have a (very well deserved) great reputation so I would have no problems recommending them....perhaps you got screwed with knockoff Eibachs???

i had sportlines and the koni shocks and now have the ksport kontrol pro coilovers(which do have the upper pillowball mount) and if you want street and track go with the sportline/koni setup the ksports arent very streetable atleast not around chicagoland(shitty roads) and as far as i can tell the coilovers do handle better but are either rough on stiff setting and bouncy on soft setting but the springs also havent settled yet but in acouple weeks im goin to the autobahn track and i can tell you for sure

sorry i ramble

you have summed it up very well - over damped, underdamped and nothing in between as the damping range is way out of it...go with TC struts and shocks and springs - eibach prolines are my choice

i've currently got the BC coilovers and am pretty happy with them. they're more streetable than they are track which is my only complaint. i'd personally rather have a kidney pounding daily commute and handle better on course but to each their own. my previous setup was koni's all around with eibach prokit springs, and a progress rear sway. when i changed to the coilovers i had to upgrade to a ttr rear sway because the rear picked up alot of grip and the car was difficult to rotate in the turns. there's definitely more grip with coilovers, and being able to easily add neg camber with the pillow top plate when i get to an autox is a major plus.

those pedders are good? do they match the deep purple time attack rear bar? maybe my next choice or the TC springs you have are good? or Pedders better? if the T3 are too much for the street....
decided on emk3 enkeis from nga motorsports, (kickass price) sold one set of my asa 18"s and new falkens to a good home got pilot sports (the cheap ones) coming for rubber...

I am real happy with the Pedders, they seem to handle on par with the SS/TC springs but are better on the street than the sportlines.

No they dont match the bar, LOL they are bright red.

The TC springs I have are brand new. youre not used to riding that high though.....theyll bring you back up over an inch compared to your Sportlines. I dont think theres really a reason to switch from Sportlines to Pedders unless you really wanna try something new, they are both comaparable, just act differently around town.

I saw that ou were getting those wheels, they are cool.

Another thing to price and factor in is what a rebuild will cost you down the road or if will even be possible for the brand you purchase. I've seen both high-end and cheaper coil-over setups develop leaks due to many reasons ranging from being daily driven tons of miles on poor road surfaces, from lowering the car too far or using too stiff of a spring, sharp impacts/accidents and so on. When that happens (usually not a matter of "if" it will) it's nice to know you'll be able to get your damper repaired or replaced.
