I'm sure this is already on a ton of threads, but I wanted some opinions on what lower springs are best for the cobalt. I really want just enough drop to get rid of the wheel gap without the ride being really stiff and rough. I've been looking at Eibach Sportline Springs because I wasn't sure if the Pro-Kits would give me enough drop. Honestly, I don't mind having to drive like 2mph over average speed bumps and dodging pot holes, but I don't want to be scraping everywhere. Thoughts/opinions?

Stay away from them. Soft spring rates, and poor ride/handling.

I had them on my Balt for about a month, I loved the drop since I didn't want something so so low and be hitting everything,

but I thought the ride quality was bad but it ended up my tires where crap and made all road feel horrible, so I sold them but I wish I would of kept them although I'm really happy with my yyz springs atm

Neither provided the level of quality, handling, and drop of my Roadmagents.

Staged has a thread all about these springs. I suggest you look into them. For me it was between these and ottp.

 

Same here went with ottp then I got a deal I couldn't pass up on the yyz

 

guess i'll chime in anyway to say SSCs are alright; ride pretty stockish just a bit harsher. Good 1" drop all around that leaves the rear a tad higher, which for acceleration purposes is what you want with FWD.

 

I have ssc springs as well, the drop isn't bad. Way better than stock that's for sure. I can't compare them to other springs because I've never driven on other setups. It's gonna be hard to choose, it just comes down to preference

 

Others like their Eibach and others not. Same with other brands, so it really depends on your personal preference and the ride quality you want.

 

I've tested Eibach pro kit spring, CM springs (same as SSC), SS/TC oem springs, and roadmagnet.

The eibach prokit road nice but the drop was only 0.5" in the rear, front stayed stock height.

The CM springs had a nice drop, but the super soft spring rates made them slam hard on rough pavement.

My roadmagnets are the best of both worlds... great drop & fantastic ride quality.

Coming from SS/TC oem springs to the roadmagnets, I can say they ride & handle similar. The roadmagnets are just firmer, but do not slam on uneven pavement. Love them.
