Cheap ebay springs

Has anyone used the cheap spings you can get on ebay for like 90 bucks after shipping? I know everyone is going to say that they are crap just like most of the stuff on there, but I don't want to hear it unless you've actually used them. I'm not talking about the cheap universal coilovers either. I'm talking about normal lowering springs such as these. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/05-06...spagenameZWDVW

oh the Tein knockoffs. yeah good luck on that one. even Tein posts warnings about those fakes on their website.

Don't skimp out when it comes to your suspension. You paid lots of money for your cobalt, so why spend a small amount on such an important component?

I couldn't have said it better myself.
Not to mention there was post about those recently. The guy said they didn't lower the car as much as they said it would and that it still almost looks like stock ride height. He was even asking if he should heat the springs to actually lower the car.

SO DON'T BUY THEM!

Awesome, I got nothing but the responses I asked not to recieve. And actually, the reason I bought a cobalt was becuase it is a cheap car compared to others. So I'm not too afraid to put cheaper parts on it to make it look good anyways. I just can't stand the stock height and wheel gap. It isn't necissarily my daily driver either so I'm not too worried if the ride is perfect. My other ride is a lifted yota, so I'm use to it a little rough. Even though none of you have said anything even about the ride quality of them. The only things I've heard is that they didn't sit as low as advertised. Was this right after they were installed or after they had time to settle, because the hight is more what I'm concerned about then anything. Need to

They only drop the car about .5-.75"

Get Sportlines, or if you're cheapm get Tenzo-R
They both have good drops

you're not going to get the responses you want because nobody really used this springs because they are crap.. they are a cheap knockoff of another brand, and are being sued for that reason... the one person that used them, said that they didn't lower the car, and the ride was not good...

Hey thebonds, I have Eibachs on my SS/SC. FYI, Tein does not yet make a spring for our cars unless they came out with them in the last month. I own a high performance business and in springs, we sell only the Teins (the real ones). My experience with products in general is that you get what you pay for. You pay a dirt bottom price for a no name product and that is exactlywhat you get. You are correct that drop and ride quality claims may not be what they say and you sound ok with that. Also consider the fact that all steel is not the same. But I say go for it, because that is really what you want to hear. Sorry for being harsh, but I think you are wanting us to endorse a really bad decision and the response is overwhelming.

the problem is you went into this hoping that someone had bought them and had a good experience which would have helped you make up your mind to get them or not. i bet if one person had a good experience with them, that would have been reassurance enough for you to make the purchase. i bet you'll still buy them because you won't be patient enough to save up for Sportlines or even Tenzos. i used to be that way too and i learned the hard way that it isn't the right way to go.

the truth is they're a piece of junk and we're trying to save you time, money, and hassle. you asked for people's opinions on a part and you got truthful responses. what if we all told you they were amazing and you can save a ton of money, then you get them and your car didn't lower, plus a few months down the road one of them cracks or something? how would you feel then?

poke around the classifieds section to see if you can find a set of used Sportlines. that would be your best bet if you want to save some money. i bought my springs used and they're sweet.

do it once, do it right.
