The rears will need a tool because they rotate to compress. Fronts will work using a c clamp on the old brake pad. Make sure your master cylinder cap is off while you compress

Yeah rears have to screw back in as stated above, there's a special tool for that you can pickup at autozone. Hooks up to a ratchet to make it real easy, just push against the ratchet while you're tightening it.

You can't use a C clamp with Brembos... And don't do this with the cap off either.

Front tool:

Mercedes Benz/BMW/VW/Audi Disc Brake Pads Caliper Piston Press Spreader Tool | eBay

Back tools:

That's along the same idea as the tool I posted. The thing about the Snapon/BP version is that it has tapered ends, so you're either going to have to pull the caliper off, or just put the end in. If you just put an end in, it's going to be tough to catch all 4 pistons.

well the compessing of the calipers wasnt the hard part of the brake job it was the pins that hold the pads in! wtf would they think of pressing the pins in ?

The pins should knock out quite easily, though there are some people that have had theirs seize.
