Cutting Stock Fe1 Springs

Has anyone cut the Stock Fe1 springs? I am currently on sportlines but want to get a little lower for the time being. I am saving up for coils and the fe1 springs are worthless anyways so why not chop em up and see what happens, especially since cutting them doesnt cost anything on my end.

I always said to clamp coils rather than cut them, ive done this a few times, even on the car (sketchy). I jacked up the a piller to compress the spring, then put 2 clamps around 2 coils to clamp them together, it dropped the car about 1.75". Took them off a couple months later beause of the harsh ride, it destroyed the struts but they were already going out it wasnt a big deal.

cutting springs scares me a bit especially in the back because they wont be seated directly against the bumpstop. so id be worried in some sort of insane unpredicted slide that if the car ever came off the suspension and went airborn the rear springs could come loose. i know its a long short but i just dont like the idea.

In reality neither of them are safe thats why i havent done either to my cobalt.
