E-Brake Adjust

Mine fully extends and barely grabs.
I like to park in neutral and currently cant on even a slight hill because it will roll away.

How do you adjust it in these cars?

In my old car there was a nut behind the console and you just drove it down and replaced the cables when it stretched all the way. Same in this?

Sorry I am sure this has been covered, but I cannot seem to find it.

Thanks.

First check to make sure that the e-brake cables are still connected to the brake handle. If you remove the rear cup holder on the center console, you'll see where the cables connect. If one has become disconnected, that would cause your problem. If they are both still connected, you can adjust it by removing the plastic brake handle cover and finding the adjustment nut. On the underside of the brake handle you'll find a little slot with a tab that you can disengage with a screwdriver. Then you can just yank off the handle cover. If you look down inside, you'll be able to see the adjustment nut.

Thanks, I fixed it.

The cable popped off like you suggested. There is no collar holding it on so when slack got in the cable it fell off. I put it back on and slipped a zip tie over each cable end to hold it on the pull if and when slack develops again. Adjusted it with a 10mm deepwell and it is as good as new.
