Also, could someone list the vendors that sell the pads and rotors. I rather not go through each individual vendor site to find them lol.
No way to tell, rotors have a very long life usually if used with a street friendly pad, most people throw them away before they are worn out. 10's of thousands of miles easy.

Id rather not go and make a list of each individual vendor that sell brake parts....lets just say that pretty much all of them that sell performance parts. **** youve got a userbar for one of them in your sig. Shop around wtf.

Oh, my bad, I completely missed that haha.

And another possibly stupid question, but is there a difference in front and rear rotors?

Andddd alsoooo lol, doing some looking ceramic is what I'm looking for but I also saw HPS- is that pretty much what the stock ones are?

Btw, thx for all the help, I know some of these questions seem basic.

1st, yes... it is a stupid question. Front and rear rotors are not the same.

2nd, HPS pads are pretty good, they are not ceramics, they are High Performance Street and NO they are not the same as the stock pads.

How long have you been on this site.? over 1200 posts

1st. yes, fronts are larger and do most of the braking

2nd. no, HPS are probably one of the best bang for buck pads out there for the cobalts.

1st. I answered his questions. I was joking about the posts... but...

2nd. I would assume since he is an active member he would at some point inform himself about maintenance on his car and search the tons of threads about brakes before asking questions.

You will NEED to get your rotors cut or replaced if you are using aftermarket pads.
I'd avoid any Ebay or similar type "house brand" brakes.

Stick with the big names, Brembo, EBC, DBA, Hawk, Perfomance Friction, etc....

Well to be painfully honest a large portion of the reason they are there is because consumers want them because they look cool/racy.

The ZR1, as well as a large portion of Ferraris, and Porsches that use drilled rotors dont have non-ferrous rotors, as a matter of fact they all use very similar brakes(Ferrari and Corvette actually use the same rotors, well the ZR1s are larger) Carbon Ceramic Matrix rotors. These rotors have the holes molded into them, there is no machining done to them to create strees risers, which is what causes cracks. You also dont cut CCM rotors, so there is no chance of creating these risers by servicing the brakes. CCM and ferrous rotors just simply cant be compared to each other.

The Z06 uses drilled ferrous rotors, they are junk. The CTSV can be had with drilled rotors, GM offers a high performance brake kit with blanks for best braking, the drilled ones arent meant for the track, Porsche states that the reason they drill rotors is o improve wet braking performance, thats it. DBA, Wilwood, and many others dont recommend drilled rotors for all out performance unless weight reduction is your key concern and replacing rotors more often isnt an issue.

Drilled rotors are for low to medium performance use and for looks.
X2.....you could go with slotted and dimpled rotors like the EBC set. They will provide the appearance of drilled without the worry of stress related cracks.

So I was looking at the deals that both NGAsales and THMotorsports both offer with the GB. Is there one brand of slotted rotors that are better than the next?

Powerstop

I think that was it for the most part. There was also DBA but they looked a little too expensive lol.
