here's an idea?

okay i was searching on ebay for strut bars and this popped up. interesting product. now, my main question is if u bolted this down do u think it would adequately support harnesses (a/m seat beats)?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ADJUS...spagenameZWDVW

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevy...2em118Q2el1247

i was just wondering bc it cud b a solution for harnesses without the installation of a roll cage.

bump?

i was gonna buy the cf one regardless for more of a visual mod. i think it looks cool. but i don't see why it wouldn't work for a harness bar. anyone else?

again, do you know how many pounds of force would pull on that bar in even a 35mph crash. That bar wasnt meant to have a seatbelt strapped to it

if it's bolted on either side and use red loctite. there r holes for it to be bolted down. i don't see how it can come un-done. it is solid. it was just an idea.

its not if it would or wouldnt come undone. its if it would snap. and if i had the stress factors right now id tell you. Dont trust your life on it because yes carbnon fiber is stronger but it is oinly stronger when it is done right. And saying that carbon fiber is stronger then steel is a strength to weight ratio.

Just be safe about it.

correct but the best and safest assembly for a harness is an actual cage setup

would the harness even be long enough to hook up to that bar? i though you needed something that was a couple feet off the floor of the car. And, Cobalt Kid, i don't think its real carbon fiber, i think the one is carbon fiber colored. It looks pretty strong by the gauge of the steel, i think it would hold up to quite a bit if you bolt it into the body solidly, but as for a seat restraint bar i don't think that it would work well since its not its purpose.

plus i would rather put something better quality into my car if it required drilling holes into the body, i would only put that bar in my beater car.
