an idea
ok i dropped my cobalt ls with the eibach sportlines, i was thinking when my struts finally die, what am i gonna replace them with? i mean if i buy ls struts again, they will just die again, but what if i were to put the struts from the SS? dont they mount the same? and theyre probably better anyway until someone makes some aftermarket struts, what do you guys think?
with those sportlines, how low is the car now? do you have to worry about hitting things alot? do you think with a body kit on it would be too low in a hilly area? i would like lower but im scared to go with anything other than the pro kit due to living in a hilly area where you have to watch how you drive so you dont bottom out

I agree with blown_06, wait and see what's out when your struts die. I don't know if they'll wear out faster with the sportlines on but in my stock Cavi I squeezed 90k out of mine.
the other thing that you will have a problem with using the struts from a ss is that your car weighs different from the ss and they might now work. i had the same problem with lowering my gst spyder, it weighs 4100 lbs. and the hard top gst is about 2900 and i couldnt use the springs or coil overs from the hard top. so i would check on that. a good pair of struts from nopi is about 120 a piece, which isnt that bad. good luck.

the spyders weigh about 4100 stock, thats the curb weight too. thats what the door says. yeah its pretty bad that my eclipse out weighs my cobalt by over 1000 lbs. and it blows the doors off my cobalt, but i love driving it.

trust me i have the car and i know what it weighs because ive had problems with aftermarket parts because of the weight. i had to know the weight just to get lowering springs. you can keep debaiting this with me, but i have the car and im just telling you what its say inside the door.

guys if you're thinking about springs, go with H&R progressive springs... if you buy one set of them, i would garauntee you'll never buy another type of spring.. anyone else who has bought them will tell you the same thing. i put a set on my '00 cougar and it made my car handle so well, i didn't even need an aftermarket sway bar.
