the lower you go, the more you will have to be careful of scraping. You won't scrape over stuff like potholes or bumps in the road (but it will be uncomfortable) you just have to take into account slopes for driveways and such, and speed bumps. Lowering the car doesn't really make it undriveable at all.

my ssc springs arent low enough i find

i guess the real question is will coilovers with wheelspacer with stock wheel will look good?

There are plenty of wheels that look nice on the cobalt. You just have to be willing to spend the money. For example, PF01's look great and are reasonable. But more people are starting to get them also.

what kind of suspension do you have if i may ask? your car is perfect low. its noticeable looks good but isnt to the point where the car cant function

i love lowered cars. i want to slam my balt bad but decided to go with just coilovers and lower it with some body work. i love fast cars but i rather do looks to start. jsut my preferance

Hes not active on the forums anymore, but he had first gen Stance coilovers with custom rear springs. He also had a custom rear beam from the Time Attack CSS that Powell makes. AKA he spent a ton of money. You can get the same height with just Stance coilovers now or Ksport. It wont ride as well or have the adjust-ability ls1fbody had but it wont cost as much.

do you have a link for stance coilovers? i as looking at pictures of different ones. my buddy alays bought megans and he said he loved them but the comp said it only goes 3 inches. i as looking for a little more than 3 inches. then i read stance were better. my cobalt 2010 but all sus. is interchangeable. if you have any more ideas i could use to possibly slam my car or go lower than 3 inches itd be greatly appriciated

From what I can tell, they're doing fine. lol I took them out to inspect them the other weekend and there isn't any excessive play in the joints at all. Theres obviously crazy bind, but nothing detrimental yet. And i've been working with Powell to make some mounts to raise my motor and trans for a while so i can be a little safer and more drivable. And yea, I pretty much burned rubber constantly with those wheels the new wheels are MUCH better.
