Canada Pics!!! Installed!!! Dp, Cabs, Sportlines, Konis, Brake Lines

ok here it is,

Thank you very much to Adam at THMOTORSPORTS. I love my new setup.

i purchased the koni's and sportlines recently and had them put on. i love the way the car handles and feels. A lot of people cant tell it's dropped. It looks perfect. I also took the time to put on my control arm bushings, brake lines and my new 2.5" down pipe with high flow cat. Here are some pics i took of it at the shop.

Is it a bird?.. A Plane?... Naww man... just my car

Damn thats a nice spring compressor

Back Right you can see the brake lines and spring/strut

Back Left you can see the same

the downpipe made the car a lot louder and full throttle. the cabs work amazing. i dont get no wheel hop, i have not dopped the clutch too hard since i got her back but im tellin you, BIG DIFFERENCE. the car rides sooo smooth for a dopped car, i think smoother than factory. This spring/strut combo just amazes my. My mechanic complemented me on how much i made sure i did everything properly with my car. He took the car for a spin and loved it. He should of got one of these, intead of that escalade lol.

I picked up my buddy from work as soon as i got the car back. took him home for lunch and a few bowls and i made a turn through a yeild doing about 70km/h and the car held its ground. My friend was rather surprised how well the car handled, he rides with me all the time so he could feel it right away too. I heard all 4 tires squeel making the turn, and the car was glued to the ground, i felt no body flex or roll at all. The car feels nothing like stock anymore, i feel its wayyyyy better.

oh yea and the brake lines work awesome too

do you have just the Koni rears or the front inserts as well?

a guy with an Ion tried to install those inserts and found out that the stock strut were too small for the inserts so he was looking at trying to install them on RL struts...just curious did you have to go this route if you have the fronts.

i have them up front too. i was at work when they got around to installing the fronts, in this pic,
you see the front spring/strut assembly ready to apply to the car.

i dont know too much about ions, but i do know that cobalt and g5 is the same car, the ion however seems to be a little different and i beleive more than appearance

the rear struts bolt right up, the fronts need a bit of work. theres a good write up on it i just read it a few hours ago. i'll post it in a sec. you have to cut the factory strut and empty it out and use it as a sleeve for the koni. i dunno if i explained that right. heres the link https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show...highlight=koni

right but what I'm saying with the front is did that insert fit okay in your front strut? because an Ion guy with them said his struts were too small so hes going to try installing them in RL front struts.

If the inserts fit fine I'm guessing you have different suspension then...possibly the same as the RL.

the fronts are a friction fit so they need to be pressed in, three ridges dig into the oem housing near the top to hold it all in place and a bolt goes through the bottom (really only to add rigidity to the setup).
