Exclamation Please Help (Suspension)

My Question... is it possible to do lowering springs on a 2.2 with just a jack, some tools and a spring compressor? And If so what is the difficulty level from 1 to 10? And also do you know a link that will guide me through the process. Thanks

By the way i got Tenzos any info?

Yes but go with jackstands not just supporting the car with a jack.

lowering

My car is getting lowered as I type this. 2" drop in front, 2.5" in rear ...Zen springs...I was going to do it myself..but I've never done anything like it and it can be very dangerous if you are inexperienced. Plus I think I had the wrong spring compressor...but you will have to take the springs off the struts...possible disconnect the brake lines. I think the struts may run through the springs so make sure the compressor you have are the two that go around the outside....regardless it will probably take a while...most body shops told me it would take 4hrs...but I have 2 guys working on mine today...so should get done faster! i hope..

Get jackstands as stated above, but other than that its easy and you should be able to do it in a couple of hours. Me and a buddy did sportlines and koni inserts in under 4 hours.

Yea man! its easy as pie, i did mine in my drive way with a 3 1/2 tone Jack, 2 jack stands
DO NOT USE AIR COMPRESSER us a ratchet, save your self striping bolts!!!
be sure you got the spring compressor and that its an outside spring compressor not the inside ones
best of luck!

I've done 4 cars without using spring compressors... you guys are amateurs

Air does make it easy to take the top strut nut off, but don't use air on the 3 bolts coming through the shock tower, they will snap right off. Also, take your time doing the 2 cross bolts that hold the knuckle to the strut, they are splined and should be tapped out carefully and lined up when they go back in, I usually do all of that by hand, the only thing done with air is the center bolt.

my only word of advice if you dont have air tools is loosen the nut on top of the strut assembly before removing from the car. We didnt do this and spent a good couple hours trying to get that stubborn bastard off there..

If you can get your hands on some air tools because that makes the job SOOO much easier
