Question about lowering my LT

I have a 2006 cobalt lt with 48k miles, stock suspension and aftermarket 18" rims.. I want to lower my car about 1.5" - 2" max.. Just wondering if I can get the eibach pro kit springs without having to worry about breaking anything else.. I know alot of people talk about coil overs, but I'm not looking to stipends alot of money or get performance out of this, just want it lowered a little without breaking other stuff, thanks.

the pro kit, kinda gives it that stock look in the back....so i recommend the sportsline. and all lowering springs/coil overs fit all cobalts.

As it happens, I have a set of ProKit springs at a very reasonable cost -- https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/susp...prings-254461/

You'll note that, according to Eibach they deliver the following drop -- I think this almost matches exactly what you are looking for.

Eibach Pro-Kit lowers the 2005-2010 Cobalt 1.6" Front, 1.8" Rear

And I'm only asking: 1ea Set for an 05-10 Cobalt (front and rear springs) -- $185 plus shipping.

PM me if you're interested. I have had very good results with these springs on the street.

My main concern is if I'm going to break anything by only getting the springs and nothing else

premature strut wear with a big drop like sportlines....Some people are riding on bad struts now, they just dont know any better due to the already harsh ride the springs give.

Do it right, fe5 struts and shocks and pedders.

I stand corrected. He's correct if you're using sportlines. And the rides going to really suck.

Lol I know right? These springs didn't even last me 6 months. Now I've got generic brand SSi springs off of ebay, better ride better handling and they've lasted me a year with no problems. Cost was 120 shipped

fe5 struts and shocks are amazing, ive got full fe5 (08-10) with fe5 springs and love it, dropped the car minor though, but like others said, fe5+pedders is your best bet.

you don't exactly get a drop with fe5's. maybe 1/2 an inch if that. it's all in the springs.

like banker said, its like 1/2 to 3/4, i noticed the drop only cuz stock LS suspension is 4x4. If your wanting more of a drop then that go pedder springs and not FE5

Just get ss/tc springs from someone with an SS that upgraded. Perfect drop for an LT.
