side to side shaking while under acceleration
i think i mayy know what is causing this, but never hurts to check...
first off, i think my drivers side axle is shot; it has leaked a lot of its grease out and its everywhere.
anyway, the other day i replaced my drivers side control arm bushing and my intermediate shaft (from behind the steering wheel through the firewall)
it was all good after that, but the next day i noticed whenever i'm on the gas, the car is shaking badly, and it seems to make the car shake from side to side. you can feel it in the steering wheel, even.
i checked my lugnuts (always a first) they are good and tight. all other suspension parts seems good and tight.
soo... axle?
think i can just inject a shitton of grease into it and call it a day? i gotta drive my car to indiana this weekend

I'm racking my brain trying to think what it could be but it may just end up being the axle. I had a problem like this with an old truck. I never replaced the axle but always pumped the cv boot with grease.

Yea. Just find a drive shaft shop, its usually while you wait.
I had both of my OEM ones done because they were clicking and a fucked the boot on one doing the cluth. Cost me $40.00 and I brought the guys at the shop a dozen of my family's donuts.
Id rather have rebuilt OEM then third party aftermarket (which I tried 4 different ones from parts stores and none even fit).

Go to Napa and get a new axle (s).
They are like $60 and a little bit beefier than stock. I have them on my car, and they are super nice quality.
Frig messing with rebuilding an axle. Messy job, and tedious getting the old boots off and new boots on.

do you think those napa ones are the same as the zzp stg1's? because zzp's are advertised to be 1mm thicker than stock, and that's the extra one that i have laying on the side. i'm just a little strapped for cash right now is all

nice. thanks.
well our shop mechanic just took the car out to get lunch/try to diagnose, andhe doesn't think an axles would cause this side to side shaking. he's halfway convinced its my tires, for some reason. they are new tires, and the car wasn't doing this until the other day. my suspension is all tight and nothing should be out of alignment. ugghh...

the wheels? idk. when i get home in half an hour i'm gonna jack her up and make sure everything's good and tight... if it all is, i guess i'll try and rotate the wheels front to back... and then i'll take my extra axle to a shop to get rebuilt.
i kinda have the same problem.... from 60-80 mph the steering wheel shakes side to side but the car dosent, its like a bad vibration i can feel it in the gas pedal too.
my alignment is off a tad but nothing crazy idk if this is the same as you or not

Wheel weights. Get them rebalanced.
i have this same issue, if i ever get on the gas my wheel will shake a little, alignment is fine last time i had them look at it, thought it may have been the spacers i had on, took those off. still shook. i have stage 2 axles and they are fine as well. last time i had the wheels balanced were when i got the tires last summer so idk if its that or not....let me know how it goes with the new axle.

oh yeah! it was my axle. it got replaced, the shaking AND clicking noises i was hearing are gone!
i paid 50 for a new axle from napa, because i happened to know the guy from a party
it was free too! my dad had done a favor for the mechanic last week. i love living in a small town
