With barrel springs it is easy to spot. If I ever get around to it I will get pics Friday. It has been too hot here to do anything, I owe Powell some pics of my sway bar too which were promised a week or so ago.
If you go cutting stockers cut very little at a time, they dont bind like my aftermarkets do, I have basically cut 4 dead coils off the whole time on the back and cut 2 deads and 75% of a load coil in the front. Stockers shouldn't be more than a coil if that. I would start at half and check ride height.

Dead coils are the ones that are just on there to hold the car up, if you are on aftermarket springs most likely they have dead coils and you can easily see them by looking under when the car is sitting on the tires. The coils that are just sitting there touching are "Dead Coils". Those that have some space between them are live coils(i.e. when your suspension is compressed under cornering/accel/braking they come closer together, dead coils just sit there and molest each other whether under load or just sitting level with the weight of the car on them.
although i'm manual and not quite as low as some of you guys, i really don't feel too much axle bind. a very slight vibration but that's it, i may need a new axle thou because the driver side has 2 very small pin holes in it that i just rtv siliconed yesterday to try and fix the leak for a while. it amazes me how the auto's seem to get bind that bad

Bah, fawk. We have no options other than poly then? I'm on my second set of oem mounts and axles and need thirds NOW so hopefully when I go for 4ths I'll actually have a quality option.
nope, nothing yet. I emailed him like 3 days ago and asked for an update. I just want them to be finished so I can order them already. lol It's been weird the past couple of days because I'm not getting much bind at all, at least not as much as I have been getting. I'm not sure if I should be happy, or worried.
How many miles are on your car? (Sorry if you already answered that, on the mobile site) it could be your axle just wore out and lowering wasn't the reason they are going bad
