Not a whole lot on the street, its primary purpose as far as I feel is to be stronger than stock and to work with the brake ducting....its a package, the Koni Challenge brake ducts and the Koni Challenge front lip are kind of all one system, and really expensive(all carbon) Look for brake ducting without thousands of dollars worth of carbon fiber to be tested sometime soon......

i can get roofs done all day long; the crawford is dimensionally perfect, costs 3500 bucks (2005 price) who knows how much today. For 2k i can get a cheaper version done.

question? why? I mean weight and all is important but your cars run on the street. so again, why?

Dude....seriously? youre gonna spend well over $3500 to replace your f*cking roof for weight loss? Seriously?

Thats not even remotely a reasonable thing to do...Lets explore.

1008 mild steel 22ga(.030" thick) roof panel, weighs 1.22lbs per square foot. PRICE:included

5052 H32 Aluminum sheet (.032" thick) roof panel, weighs .44lbs per square foot PRICE: $35.00

Genuine Time Attack carbon fiber roof panel (assuming .030" thick for comaprison, but its thicker) weighs .23lbs per square foot PRICE $3500

I didnt measure but lets say the Cobalt roof is 20sqft. SO that tells us the stock steel roof panel weighs about 24.4 lbs, our aluminum roof would weigh in at 8.8lbs, and the carbon piece would be coming around 4.6lbs And of course all of this is meaningless since a roof panel would most likely be cored dual layer carbon layup and weigh even more than aluminum, so total waste unless your wallet racing.

So for $3500 plus install you shed not quite 20lbs(in theory only)......but more disturbingly is that its only 4lbs lighter than our $35 aluminum roof!!!!!! And if you drop your alloy roof panel down to .020" thick the difference in weight is a measly 8/10ths of an ounce per square foot!!!!!! So youd be spending quite literally 100 times the money to save one pound! Thats not time attack, or pure race car, or anything....thats stupidity.

SO if we replace the roof with an alloy sheet, it still weighs more than the carbon one....so we still need to lose that extra pound somehow....and we only have $3,465 to do it........

Are you running a solid or hollow rear antiroll bar?
are you running two piece brake rotors?
are your wheels over 20lbs each?
do you have underhood and trunk liners?
do you still have the damping mat on your shock towers?
is your exhaust stainless steel?

See my point? everyone of things would shave at least a pound, wouldnt negatively affect daily driving at all if thats a concern on your time attack car, and are easily accomplished with your large remaining budget.

Getting more serious youve got things like do you still have the full HVAC case in the car? airbags? is your cage mild steel? stock steering wheel? steel framed seats? console? etc..........

groundcontrolstore.com You have to modify the shock towers to run them.
