Sportlines, cutting bump stops, shocks?

Ok i have been reading on this a while and have seen many mixed reviews, I have a 07 SS/SC with Sportlines, I did NOT cut the bump stops and my car feels like its getting hit by a wrecking ball when i hit a bump in the road. Now is this from my lack of cutting the bump stops, or is this becuase i need to buy new shocks all the way around that are made for the lowering? IF that is the case, what are some recomendations/places to get some shocks, or will just trimming the bump stops soften up the ride a little?

Is it recommended to purchase new shocks after lowering or are the factory GM ones well up to par?

Well the front ones were simple to cut with just a razor knife, the rear ones i had to take back off agian to do but it took like 5minutes to take the srpings off, real easy and it did make a HUGE differnce. thank you for the replies...

I left my bump stops uncut at first also. There was very little suspension travel. I have since cut the front ones in half and the tapered tip off of the rears (~1/2"). I checked to see if the struts would bottom out with the halved stops and they didn't. I think a lot of people make the mistake of cutting too much off the rears and then they have issues with rubbing when they try running 235 tires. If you plan on running 235's, I would leave the rear stop uncut or just take the tip off like I did.
