Spring Help

What's up guys, I own a 2006 cobalt SS/SC and I am looking to lower it a little bit because I am sick of the wheel gap. I see everyone saying that if I put it on springs that I should get new struts too, do they sell them in a package deal ? What is the best spring brand that isn't too expensive and do I need to even get new struts ? Fill me in with information guys, I'm new too this !!! Thanks

CED sells a bolt on YYZ package. Anything with a stiffer spring rate will require stiffer shocks/struts or you'll bounce like a ricer in a Civic. The lower you go the harder it is on stuff over time. I am using SSC springs because they aren't a huge drop and keep the stock spring rate. If you Google this there's a thread with pics of all the different springs out there installed.

Are you looking for a decent drop or ride quality?

I live in an area where I have to avoid potholes all the time but I just hate the wheel gap, I would like at least a 1.5 in drop in the back .. But I just don't know the process or what else I have to get besides the springs

Is this about where you want or lower? I have YYZ springs and love them. If you want a little lower I'd go with SSC springs although CM springs are very similar and cheaper. YYZ springs are the best for handling but run $360 for a set. The best compliment to them are Koni shocks/struts but 08-10 FE5 shocks/struts aren't a bad choice either just not as good.
