springs question..

springs question..

this is prob a stupid question but if i bought a set of used springs that were on a cobalt ss would they work for my ion redline? i dont wanna commit to a buy and not have them work

they should, easiest way to find out is find out the part number for the struts for the cobalt and the ion and if they are the same then thats a gauranteed yes.

also... do you think that i could possibly pull off the brembos from a ss/tc on the car

That I'm unsure of. I'm sure its possible but you would have to replace the knuckle, control arms and all that because it wouldn't bolt straight up that I'm aware, someone else might know

like outtayourmind said. Changing out caliper would change your caliper bracket. you caliper bracket bolts to your knuckle, which would have to be swapped as well. What kind of suspension package does your ion come with? I see your hubs are 5 bolt. g85? There might be some sort of adapter plate for the bracket to the knuckle. Wouldn't know for sure though.

Cobalt Springs can be made to work... but right out of the box, no they won't work.

Wrong. The Struts ARE the same... its the Top Hats that get you. They aren't the same between the two cars.

Yes, you can. I don't know that they'll work with stock Redline wheels, but the swap can be done. More info on that when I return the PM you are going to send me.
