SS/TC Front and Rear Brake Pad and Rotor Setup
I'm just wondering what you guys are running for brake and rotor setups on SS/TC's. I just bought the car its on the OEM rotors and pads, I just feel like pretty soon the breaks will be at their limit. Let me know what combinations you guys have, and how much noise they make.
Stock is best for stopping power/bite/performance
hawk pads might produce less dust but don't grab as well
Anything else is either track only or similar to hawks.
Don't cheap out, I went through $60 lordco pads for the front in under 20k. Yes I like braking.

Stock
Stock
Unless you track the car hard
If you do the brakes youself pay close attention to properly cleaning and lubricating everything prior to install
Stock on this car is high quality pad material is the same as on ctsv and others
Rotors are pretty good lots will recommend r1 and they are great but stock pads are aggressive and from what ive seen will eat any rotor thru 1 pad life so I dont see the pount in paying twice as much unless you gotta have slotted rotors

I went hawk pads and powerslot rotors, those cool slots.
A little cheaper then oem, but still pricey. Works fine for me, I didn't notice a huge difference. Also I hate how much brake dust the oem pads create.

I think I'm going to plasti-dip the stock rims white, so less dust would great... I'm only going to Plasti-Dip them white so I can get feel for I like them before I go and get them powder coated.

I do like to support our vendors as much as possible, but if there is difference of over $100 Im afraid I have to take the deal that saves the money... if it was like $5, $10 even $20... it wouldn't be that bad... but $100 keeps gas in the car for 2 to 3 more weeks.

Well after looking at the OEM brake pads price, I've decided that I'm probably going with something after market... powerstop as far as I know has a pretty good reputation, so I wold expect their products for the cobalt to be just fine. I can't see spending $173.00 for front brake pads... I thought $60 was a lot for pads for my 2.2....
2 Rear Rotors - $82
Rear pads $50
2 Front Rotor $88
Front Pads $108
And we aren't talking about a base model. This SS/TC came with some stout brakes up front. Don't cheap out.

So through Amazon... its less then $250 for everything... and through CED its 250 for just the F&R Pads...
And I suppose your saying powerstop is no good for the cobalt? Why is that? I've never heard anything bad about their stuff for any car?

How much are the Powerstop front pads?

You are awarded many internets good sir! I didn't really dive that deep into searching on Amazon. Not the easiest to search on there for these parts. Where were you able to look up the AC Delco part number? There is the OEM number, which is easier to find, but not the AC Delco part number.
