Steering Rack Spacer

Hey guys,

I'm lowered and was suggested to getting a steering rack spacer. It's nice and cheap, but how do you install it? Any how to's or anything? Will it help alot?

Thanks!

Yes...
Remove 2 bolts
Insert the spacer between the frame and the steering rack, at the 2 bolt locations
Re install the 2 bolts

And that is it. Takes around 30 minutes from my past.

Does the alignment need to be done afterwards? Or don't the angle of the tie rods change much?

I need an alignment anyway..

Do you add it to it then or does it replace something?

Sorry, but anyone have a pic of where it goes?

It's supposed to help eliminate bump steer from being lowered..

**note** thicker rack spacers will not work with the stock transmission mounts

I don't think the ackerman angle has changed by adding the rack spacers. To do that, you'd probably have to relocate the rack or tie rods ends.

The spacers may not remove that -- it didn't for me. But the spacers DID remove grinding while turning at low speeds.
