Stock Axles

I was reading alot of posts with people snapping their stock axles with minimal to no mods to the cars. I was wondering how many people are snapping their axles with motor mounts or ingals in their car? I am not modded as of yet, but i'm having an exedy clutch and bwoody motor mounts installed next week. and was wondering if that would be enough or would help in the life of my axles(I am planning on going to the track in 2 weeks).

Thanks for the info

you might want to try tranny mounts and control arm bushings. Go to intense for both, i bought jbp cab's and they fell apart in 3 months

i have the full bwoody kit an i have no preoblems at all an they look mad nice.. there is vibrations but whatever idc you get use to it i also have traction bars so i dont forsee my axels going anytime soon... but im going to be looking for an upgrade cause im going turbo soon an ill have alot more power.. just to be on the safe side! lol but with the stockers i think its mainly the people that have bad wheelhop and ppl with slicks that just dunp it an have wheelhop or it just grabs so hard... BOOM!

I blew an axle with Stg. 2, 2.8" pulley, Ingal's ETD, and Tranny mounts.

I suggest CAB's (INTENSE, not JBP) my JBP's **** out so I'm replacing them w/ INTENSE,

but I am also adding traction bars,,, overkill maybe. But last Sat. with the ETD, trans mounts, and the CABs ( I didn't know they were shot til I got home) but I was still getting wheel hop.

My DSS stg 2 axles held up like a champ,,, was able to drive through the hop to a 13.9, but that wheel hop gave me a shitty 2.3 60'

HTH

P.S. after I swap out my CAB's I'm having another vendor re-fill my JBP's with better poly, so I'll have a set for sale

Also, if I had it to do over, I would suggest a solid motor mount over the Ingal's any day. You will get more vibes, but I'd rather have vibes than wheel hop

The stock axles aren't all that week, but you just have to be cautious as to how you drive. Don't go dumpin the clutch all the time. I have almost 14K on my 07, and 630 of them were driven HARD by GM. Still runnin stock axles. I plan to replace them to support my future mods, but for now she's doing pretty well.

Intense USED to sell JBP CABs, that's where I bought mine from as well. Check out this thread, Intense now makes their own brand of CABs and will give anyone who bought the JBPs (from them or another vendor with P.o.P.) a 50% discount on their new ones. INTENSE ftmfw

HTH.

Top Reasons for Snapping Stock Axles IMO

1. People Can't Drive Their Car
2. To many mods, such as mounts, ETD, 280+ whp
3. Slicks
4. Wheel Hop, Forget to leave off the throttle

I have at least 60 passes on my stock axles but I use steet tries. Plus alot of people who get wheel hop keep on the gas hopping across the track. I have seen a Redline do this with drag radials on hopping like crazy and letting it just keep happen. His next pass his stock axle was gone.

i think people snap axles bc they dont let off when they are wheelhopping. I have wheelhopped the **** out of my car and nothing has broken bc i know when to not give it more gas when it is already hopping (knock on wood)

Yea, you hook up better on the track then street. If its a good track that is. More hp to the ground = more stress.

Maybe he just drove his car alot harder? Or maybe got some wheel hop and did not leave off the gas. Driving crazy all the time can destory all kinds of parts. Who know, maybe they did go cheap on something. No way to really know...
