Strut help

I bought some Megan racing springs a little while back and just found out I need to switch my struts too and I know nothing about struts can someone help me out on what kind I should get? I have a 08 Lt sedan

The best you can get would be the Koni shocks (tire rack has them cheapest) but you could also just upgrade to LNF shocks (LE5).

The front is struts and the back is shocks right?

I'm not asking how to do it I'm just trying to figure out what I need to do it the right way thanks tho

You might not need either. You or your mechanic would have to tell us. I'm not there looking at your car.

You CAN change springs without replacing shocks or struts, if that is what you are asking. You only need to replace them if they are bad. And from my office, I cannot tell you if they are bad, sorry.

Unless they are leaking or blown out.... then no... you dont need to change them. Typically putting lowering springs on a factory shock/strut will cause them to go bad faster.... so a lot of people just replace the shocks/struts while they already are doing springs....but you dont HAVE to.

5000+ miles on lowering springs with 96k miles on my stock struts and shocks and im still fine lol

they are called fe5, if you go somewhere and ask for le5 they will hand you an engine. lol

You need to use a spring compression tool to compress the spring inside the strut and then unscrew the top plate. You can then remove the old spring, insert the new one and screw back on the top plate. Here's a picture when I did mine.
