Thumbs down Worn out strut mounts?

I recently brought my 09 G5 base model to a well known garage in my city to get a clunking checked out in the front. He told me that everything is good and tight but he said their is a bit of play in the strut mount. So, my question is can worn strut mounts make a clunking noise in the front end going over bumps in the road??

the garage said everything is good except the right front strut mount. I was HOPING it was something like sway bar bushing or link. $312.00 plus tax for the part, hour and a half labor and wheel alignment.

If I were u, I would order new strut mounts from CED, and install them yourself.

It's not hard.

^See the thread above. I modified the thread with some notes I made when installing springs on my car. There are instructions on how to remove your front strut assembly that will be very helpful.
