I guess that when I do the ream axle beam install on my HHR, I should put a set of these in. After seeing them in person I was very impressed with the quality. Now I am getting performance reports to match. I am sold on the idea.

Oh and by the way, I know that it is not a "real SS". They did not exist when I bought this and it is slowly, but surely becoming one. SS suspension, wheels, interior, and next is the supercharger and rear disc brakes..

Hey, you better not be installing this week! We're supposed to be installing together!

Y U NO ANSWER MY PHONE CALLS!!!

but yeah, may be installing this week with Mike. Thats not to say I cant help you install on the planned date though! Your springs are sitting in a box in my trunk atm

serious note: with such a small drop, is a realignment necessary? If so, is it just a toe adjustment that is really needed (as that is the only thing that was out of spec when I lowered my LT)

Real life. Amanda just drove her YYZ cobalt from Port Perry to Grand Prairie Alberta, about 54 hours driving time from 9 am Monday, arrived at about 8 o clock our time/ about 2300 miles.
Note the trim heights. Its important to note that the car is loaded with all her earthly possessions and her GF who co drove with her.
( Stiner who posts here is out there with his GF already, so its like a clan of locals from our town, moved out to the wild west for ez money and fast wimmin in the shady saloons and OK corrals in the shadow of the Rockies.

The point is, the YYZ ride was good in all road conditions while loaded; the car doesnt sag down at the back, even with that load. Thats due in part to the quality of the spring material , the progressive spring rate and the solid load design numbers which were met in production.

Just wish they could sit at sport line height or h&r. But I'm sure the Balt suspension sits that way for a reason.

it all depends on what you want. for track work or real world work you need suspension travel.

as you drop the car you reduce travel. As travel reduces, the ride goes to heck and the spring cant support the car in performance conditions and binds as the solid load is insufficient.

that said, maybe I will explore options for the "moah loah" crowd. problem is, I am not sure I want to have to produce a spring that does things like " fall out at the rear" or "break coils"

in the meantime, I am pleased that everyone who has purchased and runs YYZ is 100% satisfied with the ride and performance.

Measure your car like this through axle center line , ground to fender lip, and tell me what your numbers are, front and rear on level ground. PM or email if you like, the numbers you have to john@powellraceshop.com

at the rear yes its relatively easy. at the front? thats a problem; drop the lower spring perch on the strut, crash into the tire; drop the strut on the knuckle, crash into the cv joint. Remove the top strut mount? possible but then isolation is totally gone. I am working on it. All depends on how low you want. I am waiting on the answer from Nobody2u on measurements like I just posted. Then I can see what is possible.

YYZ track test today

Ran at Mosport today. Bottom line, the YYZ are a rush! Awesome handling and big g's . Of course the tripleX bar helps but the rear Koni's help a lot, the skipping at the rear is gone, and until the Star Specs get some temperature just a hint of oversteer in the faster 100 mph turns. Really compared to all the other springs I have tried, this set really works the best for me. And a nice ride home!

on pit lane
E46 Dinan caught and signaled to be passed lol
