First time tune
First time tune
I've never had my car tuned so I am kinda nervous. I'll be getting my car tuned by a shop hopefully in the next couple weeks. I'm wanting a really safe tune to get rid of my cel and maybe give me 10whp at the same time. I have some really basic questions though.
1. They are doing it on a dyno I believe...is there anything I am expected to have for them to tune my car? I don't have an extra bung or anything on my downpipe and somebody told me a long time ago you need that to get tuned. Am I good to get tuned without it?
2. What SHOULD be covered by the insurance they provide?
3. Anything I should specifically pay attention to? What is the best way for me to explain to them that I want a very safe tune (any air fuel ratio or timing I should request?)
Sorry for the noob questions but I want to make sure I'm not making a stupid decision and that it gets done right.

Nope they shouldn't need an extra bung, I'm assuming they're using HPT?
You have nothing to worry about, I've never heard of anyone breaking their car on a dyno with the mods you have. You only see really crazy stories with people overboosting their turbo setups or blowing it on n20.
Like he said, you only are going to need that insurance if they do something silly like falling off the dyno.

haha, first time I got on a dyno a couple years ago he told me, "be sure not to tap the brakes...you will end up through that wall back there".
Apparently, insurance would have been good for a situation like that
