HPT Issue?
HPT Issue?
Hey guys, got a quick question, A buddy of mine has HPT and tonight we were gonna turn off the rear O2 sensor as well as the COT and Tq management as well as other small tweaks, since Im getting my new catless dp tomorrow and doing the install over the weekend.
My question is this, when we hooked it up and started the HPT>ECM communication process HPT program kept saying something about unable to communicate with car. YES we had the key on run. All USB connections were fine as we check it on his GTO and it connected to the ECM in a flash. But for some reason it wont connect to my Balt.
We have the credits to tune my car and I know its not that. Im wondering if it is in the diagnostic plug under the dash.
Has anyone else run into this problem, or does anyone have a solution?
HELP ME OUT PLEASE!!!

You have to go into your computers documents file... open HP Tuners, go into settings and delete VCM Suite....
After you do that, open up VCM Scanner... it will ask you to put in your pass key again, and it'll work fine and dandy... it happens when you switch between lots of different models...
For me it's when I switch between the LNF and LSJ cars!

Now will doing any of this mess up my buddys tuning on his 06 GTO? Im not saying any of you guys trying to help me out are wrong. Im just a little confused that if my buddy deletes the VCM Suite then that deletes the entire HPT program from his computer. And will also delete any and all of his tuning he has done to his gto. For some reason we are thinking it is in the plug connection cause HPT kept saying cant communicate with car.
Again Im grasping for straws here and dont know anything about HPT, I have always used handheld tuners in the past.

No. you do not delete the entire program. you just delete the .cfg file in the location that i mapped in my above post.
After doing this, you will only need to reconnect the mpvi interface to your computer and reload the license information that is stored in the box. you open the hptuners vcm scanner/editor, connect the interface, click on the help menu, click on license info, and click the hptuners icon to retrieve license info.
