Tuning 05-07 LSJ's

I have a question. I am currently looking at getting a 2007 cobalt ss/sc that needs an engine after wrecking my 05. BlueLNFftw said he would tune my PCM for me, but i am unsure about one thing. Are all 05-07 PCM's the same and is tuning them all the same. I'd send him the 07 PCM so he can do a tune and i'd use that PCM with my engine.

Basically i guess what i'm asking is are they all interchangeable, or would we have to do anything special to make it work. I appreciate your inputs.

I think they are different for the Redline but the Cobalts are the same I think. The Redline's had a different PCM for the '04 (I believe). Otherwise, I am fairly sure it will work.

the ecm itself is a different design. iirc its still a p12 ecm, however its a different processor, something like that. as far as function goes, its the same. engine sensors are the same for all years, the 07 ecm will run an 05 engine. leave the 07 ecm in the 07 and tune it.

Correct. 07's are 32 bit processors and 05-06 are 16 bit if my memory serves me right.

I'm not worried about the fuel guage being backwards lol but as long as it will run the car thats all i'm worried about.
