I found out today the a cobalt ss s/c at half throttle shifting at 3800 rpm is not as fast as a honda element speedshifting at redline. I came to an intersection with a honda element tailgating me, as I stopped the honda pulled into the next lane, I figured I'd speed up a little faster to make it hard for him to get around me. When the light turned green I left pretty fast and left him behind, as i shifted into second at just below 4000 rpm the element roared by (rather loud at high rpm) and screached the tires as it shifted into second. He continued on up to about 55 mph. It cought me by supirse seeing this big... thing roaring by, I laughed all the way to the next intersection. At this intersection though, I knew what he was going to do, and by the time he chirped into second gear I was about 7 cars ahead, still pretty funny seeing a guy hot rodding an element

 

Like the 6th grader beating up a 3rd grader for their lunch money...but hey, sometimes it has to be done.

 

I have had some very simular races , people in AZ will run anything

 

I know! Some guy with a 90 something chevy tracker tried to race me! I just laughed, and when the light was ready to turn green i reved my engine to like 4000 and when the light turned green i let the clutch out slowly and if i hadn't been reving my engine you would think i was just leaving regular. The guy was waving his arm out the window as he sped away. I did something like that in my truck too, but it was a black integra and he got a ticket for burning rubber across the intersection and speeding (there was a cop in the parking lot next to the intersection). I always watch my back around black integras now... I DON'T WANNA GET SHOT!!!

 

thats the main reason I dont race people around here , I'm afraid of gettin lit up after I beat em

 

the reason i don't race people around here is cause... racing on public highways is an automatic 8 points on your license! Plus your insurence goes up like 300%!
