2.4 vs 8th gen SI
From a roll Id say yes, from a dig its a drivers race but Id put my money on the SS/TC since it has LSD and grippier tires from the factory. Also more torque, but the driver has to know how to control it. Hondas are made to have a flat torque curve with power made all the way to redline. SS/TC power fades in the upper rpm from the small factory turbo. Thats why the accord has a chance from a roll. The short gears make up for lack of power and keeps it in the power band. The cobalt isnt designed like that.
Like I said, they are two totally different cars, its all a matter of taste. I prefer the accord which is why I sold my cobalt for it. I wouldnt shame any of you or try to persuade you to love my car. I love it, i could care less if the next guy/gal doesn't.

i ran an Si at the Track 2 years ago, car was quick and sounded good. we ran side by side. he won, but only by a tenth or so. i ran a 15.3. i've done better but not that night. so i would say they are very low 15- high 14 cars with simple mods.
i also havent read everything posted here, so this may have already been stated. It started turning into a bench racing, dick swinging contest, so i just replied.

while I do think Honda/VW(yes no one mention'd VW but I thought I'd include them) drivers are a strange folk, can we not get into a Honda bash fest? if this continues I'll set the "Lock Clock"
In the Honda community, it's typically the n/a 4 cylinder fwd owners that give us a bad rep. Like at local car meet on sat night. There's a group of 100 or so slammed 1990's civics and integras(all $500-1000 beaters) that make sparks on the highway(because they are so low). Plus, everywhere they go they do stupid ****(burnouts, revving and having no muffler, racing in dangerous and crowded areas) and the police bust them wherever they go. So if I am hanging out with some friends, they come in and ruin it for everyone. There's even a Facebook page for those guys called "JDM Hoes of Oklahoma". So I hereby disassociate myself from that group and stereotype altogether.
