2006 Civic Si vs Cobalt SS?
There's another Canadian here using my "Player_One" name...
Anyway, back on topic. Um, actually, I've got nothing left to say really... I have an 02 RSX-S too. I've got nothing left to contribute. :S

that weak ass engine w/ simple bolt ons also can be a drivers race w/ an SS/SC. sure the torque is low but still manages to go 14.9 at the 1/4 stock N/A.

He's right ! and he does sound lame making that statement
Why is this even up for debate?
It isn't really guess work if it is light or what it will come with there are only 8 million web sites with this information on it. It isn't a prototype.
The new Civic Si isn't a under-rated monster, it doen't pull .99g's and will be more comparable to the N/A SS just like the RSX Type-S.
Unless a car runs better than 14.6 in the 1/4 100% stock it isn't even in the same category as the SS/SC. Period

Well i think the car looks alrite but as far as trying to debate this subject i dont care enough to do so lol. im not really a fan of hondas infact i hate them unless they are orginal and not just done like every other civic in the world cause 75% of all civics i see have the exact same **** done to them. well thats my 2 cents and i dont care if n e one asked for it

I was poking fun at the fact you were talking about the k20 like it was a powerhouse with it's whopping 201 SAE corrected HP (170ish whp) and far less ft/lbs of torque. Sure it's got potential and takes well to mods, but stock it's quite mediocre.

OT: whats the average 1/4 time on them anyway? Sounds like n/a ss could hang with them.
i also agree. The new civic Si is a hell of a lot better looking than the old ones.
I am going to but a new cobalt SS supercharged and not the new civic si for the following reasons:
a)it looks a hell of a lot better than the civic.
b)it is cheaper than the new civic.
c)i promised myself that i would never buy a hyundai tiburon or a honda civic.
d)it's a chevy vs. a honda
e) if i bought a civic, my friends would make fun of me.
i think that's good enough of a reason.

Damn....and I thought there were Honda owners that were haters and claimed that anyone driving a domestic also sported a mullett (sp?). I've owned more GM products than most of the people on this board and I had some great ones and some not so great. Have to admit that when the imports first hit the scene way back when, I was as anti-Japanese as my father and my brother.
I don't understand where all this anti-Honda sentiment comes from unless you're locked into some "Made in the USA" mentality that prevents objectivity. I've been an Amercian Muscle fan since before most of you were born but my family now owns 5 imports, 1 Honda, 2 Acuras, 1 Nissan and 1 Hyundai. And you know what...none of them is the fastest thing on 4 wheels but they are reliable, fuel efficient and provide a relatively low cost of ownership over the life of the vehicle.
Let's all relax and know that heads up, the SS/SC is faster than a Type S, the Civic Si and a handful of other imports. Nobody is claiming it isn't....I personally like the car and I don't bash it just because it is a domestic. Just my $.02 worth.

All I can say is... Touch screen navigation.... that alone is an awesome feature looks wise
as for performance, unless your taking your car to the track that car will haev plenty of power, enough to get you pulled over
if you are stupid enough to drive a car like your at the track just anywhere on the road then go buy a faster car, if not enjoy the new civic giving you directions as you cruise...
this is comin from a die hard chevy fan too
