i dunno about that I know stock they come 205hp so lets say 170whp, 180whp max. Well since their internals can only handle about 12 psi stock. Your looking at 245hp 250hp so around 200-210whp. So i would have to agree with jeep on this.
I'm done with internet forums after reading that.

yup only 12psi and can't make over 300 crank hp without blowing up..... sssshhhh don't tell my car that

just for when they pop back in here

stock 1/4 bone stock 14.01 @98mph
stock with tune 13.8 @103.54
s/c;d with random mods 13.36@106
turbo'd with fucked up shifter and non functional wot bax 13.1@116mph
whp 414/378 mustang dyno...

/thread lol

414/378 is 93 octane whp
104 octane and 22.5 psi is 441/400.......
also remember you run a lot higher compression than us (9.5:1) and that mivec whatever on it. less boost to make more hp.
anyway, just wanted to throw some education out there,
I attempted to read that linked thread and it made my brain hurt and I had to close it. so much misinformation in there,.

never have tried anything over 91octane.. i need to get me some 104. and mivec is just a bigger cam that just kicks in at a certain rpm.. almost kinda like v-wack. i wish i could run 22 psi.. my motor would take off without the car haha.. those are pretty solid numbers non the less though i must admit.
and with those numbers is this with a built engine?

and isnt there stupidity in every forum. and you have to dig to actually find usefull information

you sir are correct lol.
Actually on the stock 38,600 mile motor, no problems so far cept for the stock axles and the stock clutch (which actually lasted til 4 weeks ago)
I've seen a couple of boosted 4g's at RIPP mods that put down some very respectable 400+whp numbers, can't argue with that.
I'm pretty much at the limit of the stock cams right now, I have a set I need to install, just waiting for someone to figure out the lifter issue before I go ahead and do it (I've been the 1s to do so many other things I need a break).
I will be building up the motor in the next few months and aiming for @550-600whp on race gas and 500-525 on pump gas if all goes well. The turbo I have right now is just about big enough to get me there at 28psi or so, but on pump I don't want to run more than 25 on stock compression.

nice man nice.. what kinda turbo are you currently running?
i know what you mean though i need a new clutch pretty bad.. my stock one doesnt agree with that power launching from a dig what so ever.. getting a clutch masters stg 2. im hoping they come out soon enough with a reliable turbo kit for the 4G so i can go that route.

running a turbonetics HiFi 60-1 (t3/t04E) ceramic ball bearing unit.
My stock clutch actually still held fine from a dig, it was 3rd gear it would give up lol. now with the exedy at 22.45 psi on race gas I was spinning 3rd into 4th on street tires.

I'm sure someone out there is willing to r&d a turbo kit for the eclipse, run a decent size turbo (gt3071/3076) on there, get quick spooling and be good to over 400whp easy. Too bad you weren't closer I'd say hit up RIPP they do custom turbo kits and tuning on those cars.

hey the longer they take to release it, the more R&D (hoefully) is going into it so when it does come out, it'll be good to go with no problems.
yeah I would say the eclipse is just a tad heavier than an evo lol.
they really aren't bad cars, just not my cup of tea (I'm a chevy guy). I actually had a 91 eclipse with a 50 trim on it, I blew that bitch sky high on 28 psi. damn cylinder 3 was dead, so I put it out of it's misery lol.

lol yeah, my first post over there was a doozy buy i keep editing my 2nd so i dont get flamed too hard. i still dont see how they think a 240whp 3500lbs eclipse would win over a 215whp 2800 cobalt. ive seen them race, its a drivers race most of the time and the cobalt generally pulls away.

i must of had a weird cobalt or something cause i had an 05 ss/sc for all 3 month then sold it cause it made 198 whp. now granted im at 5500 elevation but never cleared over 200 whp. and second ive never seen a cobalt beat a GT now im sure it has happen but never seen it.

and ya im a chevy man too.. love them threw and threw.. had an 01 SS camaro fully buily NA that was making 575 whp on pump 91. until some idiot stole it and trashed it.. at least i collected insurance lol.. but thats when i got my balt cause i wanted another bow tie.. but like you said wasnt my cup of tea..

Thats cool. I personaly like the eclipses. They are flashy and quick. When mitsu dropped the 3.0 and went to the 3.8, they definately became a rocket. 2 different kind of cars, same market. As for head to head, both have their perks. As a cobalt driver I say that the cobalt is a little harsh, like a roller skate....having never driven an eclipse, only a passenger, they seem like nice cars. Bang for buck is what I went for, and my mods don't equal much $ and its a solid high 13 second car. Good job on taking the Mitsubishi flame job you recieved. Some of them guys are a little screwy over there.
