Cobalt Kill....

I debated whether to even put this up, but I ran into another SC at a local meet a few nights ago. His mods were similar to mine so I asked him if he wanted to run. He agreed and off we went.

I thought it would be close, but on the third honk I murdered him all the way through 120. We raced two more times and I realized it was because he had no clue how to drive Every time we took off, I could hear him down shift after the third honk!? I even told him to downshift before we started......lol I was almost ashamed

Anyway, his mods were: G85, Injen intake, Megan Racing Catback

My mods: Injen intake, POS ricer exhaust (came on the car when I bought it)

A friend of mine video'd it, I'll see if I can get it on here...

Ive seen this school of thought from some of the s/c guys that are afraid of the heat that the extra 1.2 seconds of being that high in the RPMs causes so they downshift at the last second.....

Understandable but....

G85 would not make him faster.

It wouldnt even help if you went from a dig.

Now, if you raced around a road course, and said SC owner knew how to drive he would pull away from you out of the turns.

Ok....

Maybe if the area you are launching has gravel or crap on the road then the LSD might help.

Open diff will evenly pull from a launch no problem.

The LSD for the Cobalts was designed to help on a road course when you exit a turn.

Yeah, I never fully understood that until I put my car on the twisties and tried to get on the throttle out of a corner....what happens? HUGE understeer and/or wheel spin resulting in reduced if not a total loss of control
