So I was driving around late last night and encountered a group of people in a parking lot. They wanted to see if I wanted to race for money. I said no and one of them had a sssc 07. He wanted to race me. All I have is a CAI..he cliamed to be 100% stock. We start from a dig and he totally kills me...I was WTF?? We try again and the same thing happens. I start to notice that when i'm redlining at 7 rpm then shifting to 2nd, he hasn't even shifted yet...Possible that he could have S2? I heard that you have a high rev limit...from a roll the outcome was the same..he just seemed faster>>?? Could it be the CAI?? I understand that it comes down to the driver but i'm not satisfied at that...?

 

So how much did you lose?

 

My guess would be Stage 2, stock redline is at 6500 stage 2 is 7000 and maybe a tune. That way it would be silent but deadly

yeah but I DID NOT race for money..if that was the factor then I would have look into his mods more closly...I guess I was curious to see how much of a difference the CAI put out.

 

1 car lenth is not that much his car just might be stronger then yours. i think a stg 2 balt would beat a stock balt by more then just 1 car. and maybe hes just a better drive no offense

 

What are you doing at 7000rpm in second gear anyways??

 

i dont know how it is where ur from but on woodward... everyones stock.. 650 hp Charger is stock and the lil honda runnin 12's is stock.. some places operate on a dont ask dont tell basis... its how you make money.. round here ne ways

I'm confused too. If you're stock with CAI, how can you shift at 7k? Stock is 6.5K rpm.

 

Can you elaborate more for me?? Excuse my lack of knowledge in that area..I always thought it was alright when going through 1st gear you shift in or around 6500rpm to second....?

 

If i went through first gear at that rpm,I would get mad wheel hop(possibly causing damage and loss of time) ease out of first and don't give it to much in second,3rd is where its at,now you have a ss/sc ,so things are a tad different for ya.Im sure some other members can elaborate some more also.

 

how do you have a 7 grand redline if you only have an intake

 

that was my bad..I meant to say I have a 6500k and it seemed he was shifting later in or around 7k
