If it were an 05+, it would be somewhat close.

Beacuse its the older 4.6, you will beat him hands down, unless you can't shift worth a damn.

 

should be a close race, they are low 14 to high 13 stock, so hes probably mid to high 13's right now.

Im a huge ford fan. I know these results are not typical but I had a friend go 13.2 at 104 with a catback and gears on a 2000 gt...my brothers 01 gt goes 12.9 with exhaust, gears, and tires.

If you can drive you should kill him. If you're an ok driver you will still win by a good amount. If you suck at life expect to see tail lights.

edit - dont use launch control, launch at 2000rpm with slipping the clutch, shift out of first around 5800-5900 using nolift and he shouldnt be anywhere near you

 

that meaning turn off the traction control completely or use "COMPETITIVE MODE"

Turn off traction control or use comp mode...either way dont sing the motor off of the 5100rpm launch control as the results wont be what you desired. Leave like you are leaving from a stop light but rev it up alittle before hand.

i was playin around with a buddy of mine that has one with headers/x-pipe/full exhaust.. he barely pulled on me from second on in my stock ss/sc with a/b mod and cat back

i walk away from those stangs with that EXACT mods... your going to pwn him. and i'm talking about from a dig. however i did feather when racing from a dig just because i know if they get the launch and i spin... its all over. so my advice, dont spin

 

VERYY important here is to find out WHICH EXACT Mustang he bought! A MACH 1 is gonna give you a hard time and if he found a Cobra you can forget it.

My friend has an 04 Gt, K&N intake, shorty headers, different throttle body and runs 14.1. You should have him.

 

Negative factor my friend. There are many 99-04 GT's that run 14 flat in the 1/4 mile and quite a few that have dipped into the high 13 range stock. The average is around 14.1-14.2 with an average driver. The 05 and up GT's are mid 13 second cars on average. Just because all you guys do is ever run shitty drivers doesnt mean the car isnt capable of other, faster times.

To the OP, you should win if you can drive decently, but if he has been driving a stick for a long time than it will be a close race.
