Found On Road Dead
if you screw up on the launch he will be you to the finish line. if you get him off the line. you will PWN him regardless of what annnyone on here says. you get the launch you own the race
Negative factor my friend. There are many 99-04 GT's that run 14 flat in the 1/4 mile and quite a few that have dipped into the high 13 range stock. The average is around 14.1-14.2 with an average driver. The 05 and up GT's are mid 13 second cars on average. Just because all you guys do is ever run shitty drivers doesnt mean the car isnt capable of other, faster times.
To the OP, you should win if you can drive decently, but if he has been driving a stick for a long time than it will be a close race.

Mustangs blow!! they are just cheap for what they are and they are all over the road..not to mention they are Ford's.
Desoto is the ****!!! That is the place where I saw my first drag race years ago for the snowbird nationals

A lot of hate for mustangs being expressed here......
Even if you hate them, they are still the easiest car on the planet to make faster.
My 92 GT with a home made twin turbo kit on a stock shortblock would walk away from 600 and 750 cc sportbikes, all for about $5000 invested including the cost of the car.
Try that with a cobalt.

VERYY important here is to find out WHICH EXACT Mustang he bought! A MACH 1 is gonna give you a hard time and if he found a Cobra you can forget it.

From a roll you would have it hands down. From a dig(this situation since you're at the track) it's gonna depend on how you can drive. Your car is faster, but it sounds like he is a much more experienced driver. As long as you get a good launch you should have him by a bit. I wouldn't talk any **** though, it could turn around because of bad driving on your part.
No, haven't you heard? The new turbo's walk bolt on cobras and mach 1's all day stock. 12 and 11 second cars are easy pickins for a mighty mighty 2.0.

Im a huge ford fan. I know these results are not typical but I had a friend go 13.2 at 104 with a catback and gears on a 2000 gt...my brothers 01 gt goes 12.9 with exhaust, gears, and tires.
If you can drive you should kill him. If you're an ok driver you will still win by a good amount. If you suck at life expect to see tail lights.
edit - dont use launch control, launch at 2000rpm with slipping the clutch, shift out of first around 5800-5900 using nolift and he shouldnt be anywhere near you

The 104 trap speed is a real dead giveaway in the BS department especially since a cat-back adds no power over stock.
Jesse, change your damn avatar....you don't have an S2K anymore. I need to come out your way soon and chill with you all sometime soon. And I gotta check out the new 240. I take it your putting an RB26DE-TT in it?
