Practice practice practice. Don't go to the track without practicing the launch. Of course the track will be different but don't go there with zero experience. Make this count. Good luck.

mustangs will take you off the line, but you should be good to reel him in for a win. Raced one with stage 2 only and took him by a car-2 before it was over.

Why are there so many threads about races that are going to happen, might happen, ect?

Why not just post after the race and let everyone know how it went?

Just because all you guys do is ever run shitty drivers doesnt mean the car isnt capable of other, faster times.

To the OP, you should win if you can drive decently, but if he has been driving a stick for a long time than it will be a close race.
i tried telling them they run low 14's stock they just call bs, let them be fanbois

Mustangs blow!! they are just cheap for what they are and they are all over the road..not to mention they are Ford's.
Desoto is the ****!!! That is the place where I saw my first drag race years ago for the snowbird nationals

A lot of hate for mustangs being expressed here......

Even if you hate them, they are still the easiest car on the planet to make faster.

My 92 GT with a home made twin turbo kit on a stock shortblock would walk away from 600 and 750 cc sportbikes, all for about $5000 invested including the cost of the car.

Try that with a cobalt.

No, haven't you heard? The new turbo's walk bolt on cobras and mach 1's all day stock. 12 and 11 second cars are easy pickins for a mighty mighty 2.0.

From a roll you would have it hands down. From a dig(this situation since you're at the track) it's gonna depend on how you can drive. Your car is faster, but it sounds like he is a much more experienced driver. As long as you get a good launch you should have him by a bit. I wouldn't talk any **** though, it could turn around because of bad driving on your part.

If you can drive you should kill him. If you're an ok driver you will still win by a good amount. If you suck at life expect to see tail lights.

edit - dont use launch control, launch at 2000rpm with slipping the clutch, shift out of first around 5800-5900 using nolift and he shouldnt be anywhere near you
^ yea, its gears that make a huge difference.

I read through that thread but it didn't seem like you did anything to get a temp ban.

I can't belive I am the first person to say this post kinda smells like a farmyard. Sure gears help but they are not making a 220whp GT run 12's or low 13's. I myself have owned a 2003 GT with my share of bolt-ons and know several people with ones modded well beyond your friends or brothers and they didn't run those times.

The 104 trap speed is a real dead giveaway in the BS department especially since a cat-back adds no power over stock.
