hondas..
He should be able to beat the K20A2 as well because they are only rated 201HP at the crank. Thats why I asked because the K20A can range from 160-222HP while the K20A3 is rated 160HP at the crank.
Really? I don't know much about Honda stuff, but as far as I can tell the K20 is a decent engine, but I'm lost on how easy it seems to be for this engine with no mods and no forced induction to beat cars like our cobalts. I've raced some of the lower end Hondas and left them buses behind me, but I've never raced a k20. I can see that these put more than 200 out at the crank, but the SS S/C puts out 205 at the pavement, or at least my friend's dyno'd stock at 206.9hp. I can see a 500 pound difference coming into play though.

Unless it was boosted it really is a pain in the butt to build that engine for NA. Pretty much everything is interchangeable and people have put the RSX-S / ITR head on the A3 block and made it work. Some of them you can't because of the valve clearance. That's if you were to start messing with the Accord / Element / CRV K24s.
I've seen a Type R head on a Honda Element along with intake/exhaust, and I think it made around 180whp.
I think I saw that on Speed Vision years ago. It was one of those team battles if I'm not mistaken. Pretty neat. That's not bad considering a stock Element puts down far less. Like 135-140whp or something like that.
well heres my two cents but this is a race between me and a friend. kinda just gotta watch for headlights sorry. im the camera car.
ss/sc(me) stock plus intake
hatch b16 swap, intake, header, exhaust (still way slower than a k20 swap)
i would only pull about 2 cars on him and shut down at about 120. i say itll be a close race dont under estamate a k20 civic just because most people who drive hondas are real donut hoes.i hope you beat him though because he sounds like the typical honda owner.

it's still that HP to LBS ratio, i've seen 200WHP hatches run high 12 to low 13's all day. cobalts need more mods to run those times than any K20A2 hatch when compared mod for mod.
K20A3 on the other hand is MAYBE high 14s stock, strong 15s or above.
OP shouldnt have to worry
Bro you should get spanked. Just sayin. If its the good K20, you'll get your face rocked, if not...you may have a shot. But k20 hatches are no joke. Respect hondas. a well done one will beat your brakes off.
