how should this have happened...

okay the other night i was coming down the highway, and a black 03-04 sti pulls up next to me...he has at least exhaust from just what i could see...we slowed down to about 40 mph and honked from there...we took off, he put about half a car on me untill higher 3rd gear, and when i went to 4th i started pullin back on him, but not by much...turned out we were both goin to the same spot and he said all he had was he moved his intercooler to the front, and intake and exhaust...j/w if the results of the race were what they should have been cuz idk..thanks y'all

I could be wrong but I thought an STI would need a tune with those mods or something called boost creep will occur and grenade the engine.

Don't you mean 04-05 sti? With those mods he would need a tune to get the full potential out of those mods. The 2.5l engine does push a little to hard on those small turbos and you can get boost creep sometimes.

it should have happened exactly as it happened -- you know how I know?..............cuz that's how it happened.

Mods don't mean power unless the set-up is correct.

Power doesn't mean anything unless you can get it to the ground (this includes the differences between AWD, FWD, RWD, Roll Race vs Dig, Weight, Transmission/gearing, Tires and Driver Mod)

Basically what I'm saying is you can analyze races all day and there will always be exceptions and some won't make sense. The street/strip is the final determiner of the work you've done to the car. Anything can happen and it normally does. Don't over think it. You beat him and it's as simple as your car is faster than his. Whether it's his tune, his weight, drivetrain loss... doesn't matter. It was a fair race and that was the outcome. /end thread.

losing by a car to a modded Sti is not a bad thing, you did better than most
