I got Murdered by an SRT4 AND a GLI :(
Here is a quick clip of my SRT running against my GTO...
turn up your speakers for this one...
the GTO gets a slight jump, then the SRT hits boost and its game over. The on e driving my GTO did get out of the throttle once the SRT hit boost. This video is simply mean't to somewhat hear the sound, however it doesn't do the red car justice, it must be heard in person..
a whirlwind of a tornado!

What?????????????
i hate the sound of hte exhaust of the cobalt.... no matter what muffler you put on it, it still sounds like a riced out civic or something. It's not until the supercharger starts whining that you get a half-way decent sound out of the car, but the exhaust itself still sounds like ****.
Subaru's have the best sound, and other turbo cars like evo's & srt4's are #2 for 4-bangers.
Turbo V8's sound the best though

NO WAY THE COBALT SOUND LIKE A MINI 350Z. AND THEN WENH THE SC GO ON IS ONE OF MOST SWEET SOUND IN A CAR I EVER HEAR...... TURBO IS OK BUT THEN AGAIN I HAPPY WITH WHAT I HAVE I TOOK IN CONSIDERATION A LOT OF TURBO CARS BEFORE I GOT THE SS BUT ONCE I TEST DROVE THE SS IT WAS A DONE DEAL... YOU KNOW WE HAVE A SAAB EGINE AND YOU EVER HEAR SAAB LINE EGINERED FROM AIRPLANES SO WE BASICALLY GOT A MINI JET EGINE.....
The transmission is made by Saab. The engine is actually derived from a Saturn engine. Ecotec is a GM motor now, but it was inherited by GM when they acquired Saturn. The LSJ is built in Germany and is a de-stroked version of the original 2.2L Ecotec using F/I by means of an Eaton M62 roots supercharger...
Don't believe everything you read. GM is a parts bin manufacturer. They don't feel the need to change molds every time the change application. The last time your valve cover was redesigned, it was redesigned for the Saab Ecotec. Doesn't mean that's where it came from.
Regardless, let's get back to the real issue here. Just because Saab has had their hands on this engine, doesn't mean that it's a "mini jet engine." I don't know how serious you are about this statement, but I'm just hoping you're joking around. I agree that it's a great engine, just look at its history and the awards given. Like Ward's Top Ten (LSJ, 2006).
But the Eaton powered LSJ is being revamped and replaced by bigger and better things, figuratively, not literally. The LNF is the same block with direct injection and a turbo instead of the roots. Makes much more power, safely. I'm sure the next generation of F/I Ecotec will be even more powerful and much more efficient...
