a 50trim will stop lots of things in a SRT-4.. i said a SS camaro and my friend i raced had a exaust and intake. I had all suporting mods to get 300whp. and he wasnt that far behind me. lol SRT-4 wasnt thought of when i had this car

Silly GTO guy

This works two ways in my situation, kids in Mustangs and other cool rides always seem to screw with me like I am one of the senior citizen Vette owners. Then they either see how old I am or I wax them off the next light.

Then there are car shows and cruise nights all of the high school guys want to see your Vette and then all of the old people come over and chase away everyone else. It is kind of funny to see the looks on older peoples faces when they see me and my GF get out of my car though. I have heard everything from "must be mom & dads" to "wonder who paid for that" I just laugh it off.

Now LS2 guy lets not hate, we share the same motor you know (you didn't want to wait for the improved LS3?). Yes mod for mod the vette will be faster, but there is a reason I bought the GTO over the vette. It is far more comfortable, has a better interior, seats four in comfort, better fits my 6'5" frame, cheaper insurance, better style (that is in the eye of the beholder, but the C5 looked better to most people but girls would recognize a vette more so then a GTO), under stated looks that help keep the 5-0 from following me, rides better, I could go on and on (BTW, a C5 Z06 will out do all the numbers you posted son....). But I will agree the vette is a better performance car, maybe not so much a bargin though for you could pick up a GTO when both were new for far less then a vette. Besides, where was the vette bashing from the GTO people? Most GTO people trade up to the vette, some would rather mod their GTO to smash a vette instead to each their own. Besides, white with those base aluminum wheels is blah looking..... Ok, back to the LS versus the four cylinder crowd again. Whose side you on LS2 guy?

LOL that would suck! thats how i felt when i had my 1997 VR-4 with 20,000 miles... Mint.... i got mean mugged all the time!!! i didnt tint the windows for a reason!

1) I like LS2's and wanted nothing to do with the LS3.
2) My C6 is cheaper to insure than my GTO was.
3) Base GTO $32,000 Base C6 $44,000 and worth every bit more.
4) A C6 Z51 is equal to a C5 Z06.

And I started bashing the GTO guys here because they have bashed about the great GTO here long enough. They post like the GTO is the baddest GM on the planet and are very far from correct. It would be the same as me acting like a Z06 might be a run for my stock Z51. It is also funny that they belive the only difference between a C6 and GTO is price and a few hunderd pounds. When in fact the Vette was built from the ground up as a sports car which makes it well worth the extra $10K.


As for my standings in LS vs Four cylinder crowd:

Anyone who sits here and pretends like displacement or number of cylinders defines a cars performance abilities is a god damn fool.

I dont think it weighs 3100 lbs, but I do believe it weighs less than what the media says.

CSRT4:

car and driver: 3233 lbs
cars.com: 3189 lbs


When I took it to the track and weighed it on the scale it was around 3100 lbs with crap in the trunk and in the cab. Whats said by the media isnt always true.

Id say he needs to weigh it himself. Im sure its not 3100 lbs unless he stripped it down a lot.

He should go to one of those weigh in stations for trucks, or if a track has one weigh it there.
