My buddy just picked up this 240sx with a sr20det with lots of work done to it from boston so we decided to go out and see what it had. from a 3rd gear roll I put a car and a half on him.

From a 2nd gear roll around 20 I put 2 1/2 car lengths on him. I think he isn't spooling quick enough or somebody secretly made my car faster.

 

And you have an intake and exhaust am I correct mercury???? Something is wrong with his car....I would never buy a used modified car. You never know if it's done correctly or not.

 

I believe it, my friend in a ion raced, one of those, that was turboed, dont know his exact hp numbers, but from a dig, the redline put about a car maybe more on it.

 

That and any car I've modified it's been driven like it was stolen...after all why modify

Heh, we tried to drift it tonight fun car. It feels faster than mine because of the rear wheel drive but we will see how this little battle settles out in the future...

I raced one with just a torbo on low boost 4ish psi, an intercooler, and muffler from like a 10-15 roll and he beat me by 2 cars and immediately pulled on me.

 

depends on how much it's been ragged on.

Horsepower doesnt say much about a car, i beleive that torque says more

"Sure, my snowmobile hits 400hp at 45,000rpm!!! 600cc's, woot!!"

 

I'm guessing someone put a 3 where a 2 should have gone...

 

Agreed. No way a 300+whp car should be beat by a bolt on cobalt that badly. Beat, maybe, it'd be close. SOmthing's up with the SR20, sounds liek it needs more Tomie stroker kit.

 

I do know that a friend of mine got that engine in his 240, with only an exhaust and his car gutted, and he can't hang with my other friend's 350z. From a dig to about 60 or so they're even, but then the Z will pull away quickly. Weight only gets you so far...

The 240 guy has done lots of research - those motors typically put 180-200 to the wheels without any mods. What has your friend's car had done to it?
