Sure. Let me match their amount of boost then. What is it, 20-22psi?

If you truly own a boosted mustang then you should realize that boost levels mean nothing. Its just a measurement of pressure. Matching flow rates would be a closer way. But in the end its still a ricer thing to say. That's like the cobalt saying ok let me add 4 more cylinders.

Can the Cobalts fabricate a RWD setup and slap Pony badges on their cars so it will be fair?

Valid point. But either/or, with matched flowing turbos, a V8 will yield more power. Turbonetics 76mm T series .96 a/r turbo is what I have.

Sure. They can put in a measly 2v 4.6 in their car too

That all depends on an engines efficiency. But a turbo will have the same flow potential no matter the engine.

That really is my car lol. I know there are some out there...just not around here. I actually came on to comment on the thread of my Mustang vs the Cobalt, then stumbled upon this. And by twice you mean 40-45mpg?! Then DAMN! Thanks though.

This just in:

PSI doesn't directly relate to horsepower, and with the same pressure and flow, a v8 will produce more power than a 4cyl.

215 hp V8 from 1997
260 hp V8 from 2002
300 hp v8 from 2005

Beware of the dime a dozen mustang gts you see everywhere that are gutless and slow, guess this guy put a turbo on his beater? Grats I guess!! This is a cobalt forum, not mod your $3,000 rusted old sub 200 whp v8 forum

For a better comparison lets talk about same year of camaro with the same mods, ohh it would be faster!! :*(

I think a turbo mustang would be a ton of fun. Although I don't really care for the older style bodies, a newer 5.0 or even the V6 would be sweet with a snail or two.

Yours numbers are off for 92. The 87-93 gt's in stock 5 spd trim should out down close to 190whp. While that doesn't seem like that much its enough for a coupe fox body to run high 13's. Also all gt Mustangs are rated using 87 octane. And an ls1 isn't always faster than a turbo'd modular. Modulars do love boost.

Also dome a dozen? Did you forget we drive cobalts? It's not like we are driving an sl65 black or a veyron. But those gutless gt's your talking about are typically faster than at least a stock Ss/Sc with an engine block dating back to the late 50's (the 302 was originally a 260..).

You need to learn how to drive the Mustang at the track. You spent too much time spooling the turbo in between shifts. Your launch wasn't that great either. Get some drag bags.

I was defending the Mustang a little but after reading the rest of this thread I can see it getting locked up due to the douche-bag attitude. Everyone knows that there is no replacement for displacement. For you to race against a nearly stock TC is retarded. It isn't a fair race.

As for the new Mustang vs the New Camaro? Mustang will beat the Camaro 9 times out of 10. Displacement didn't help the heavy Camaro any.

Yeah my 1.56 60' launch was terrible. Those damn stock axles, rear end, and transmission took them like a champ. I didn't powershift because I didn't want to break any of those. But please preach on.

Edit: Before you call BS on my 60'

Good trolling with your 18 post's.

I bought my cobalt for cornering fun, something your car with 10k of suspension work could never do well.

Reminds me of a few years ago when I was stock and beat a Stage 3 Roush all because there was a bend in the highway.

Not trolling since I am staying on topic. You bought a Cobalt...for cornering? LMAO. Yeah, and I bought a Prius to go fast.

No, just failure on the lack of knowledge on this forum against Mustangs that everyone in here hates so much.
