I have 2 friends, one with a 03 Mach 1 with an X-pipe and another with a auto LS1 99 Camaro with a cat-delete. They are racing tonight for 20 bucks. Predictions? They are doing a dig, 30 and 40 roll.

 

From a dig, its a driver's race. Assuming the guy in the Mach 1 can drive and due to the Camaro having an auto tranny, I predict the Mach will win both rolls.

Edit: This is also assuming the Mach is a 5 speed.

 

Is the mustang auto or manual? If the stang is manual I call camaro all the way. Its easy to launch an auto and an auto shifts faster, and most drivers aren't going to be able to get the full potential out of the mustang 5 speed. The WHP on both is around 300. Both were rated at about 305 by the factory but both were VERY conservative facotry numbers. Its going to be pretty close. They both sound pretty much stock. It will probably come down to driver. After looking up both.. motor trend numbers on the 1/4 and 0-60... mustang 13.88 with auto 13.2 with stick 0-60 4.7 and the auto is about a second slower. The auto LS1 is at 13.5 on a 1/4 and 0-60 in a hair over 5 sec. Those are stock numbers, but with only the few mods they have it should be a fun race to watch. That stang better be shifting like a pro whose life depends on it.
